Gunmen attack govenor's convoy, kill guard

news.yahoo.com

Gunmen shot at a convoy carrying the governor of a violence-wracked border state, killing one of his bodyguards and wounding two other agents.

The federal Attorney General's Office said Monday it did not appear that Chihuahua Gov. Jose Reyes Baeza was the target of an assassination attempt. State investigators believe the shooting erupted over a traffic altercation between the bodyguards at the back of the convoy and armed men in two other cars, the office said in a statement. It did not provide further details.

Interesting development after recent events in the area including a sharp increase in gun-related crime and the executions of police officers.

Texas is also reportedly deploying guard units to protect the border.

Perhaps Mexico is going to be the next big civil war the world sees?

I pointed out in the 3rd related thread regarding the Guard deployment in Texas about the similarities these developments have to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter game series.

His Ghost Recon games also mirrored the events in South Ossetia.

If his uncanny predictions continue, it means that a meeting will soon take place between Canada, the US and Mexico in regards to a Joint North American Security Agreement. This meeting will be attacked by rebels and civil war will break out in Mexico.

Let's see how this plays out.

Time will tell.
