www.indystar.com

The Indiana Senate voted 42-8 today for a bill that would prohibit businesses, government or individuals from restricting gun owners from keeping a legally licensed weapon locked in their vehicle.

I just want to say hello to everybody here at ATS as this is my first post here.

What the Indiana Senate did a couple days ago is a step in the right direction! I'm not familiar with other states guidelines about weapons in their vehicles.

I know where I work we are prohibited to keep weapons in our vehicles but hopefully that is about to CHANGE.

It's nice to see legislation passing that upholds gun owner's rights seeing as how so many people want to restrict them or take them away.

And welcome to the site, by the way.

There shouldn't be a bill to have to pass in the first place. Defense of our lives IS OUR RIGHT.

This is what happens when dictators, er I mean legislators write bills...

Here in the Republic of Ohio, we can carry our pistols in our car, as long as it's in a holster. We are also an open carry State, but most business places have a sign telling one not to bring a firearm inside. I carry my .44 Remington revolver at all times, but at my age it's getting quite heavy, so I'm getting a smaller one to carry.

Here in Oregon, we can carry guns in our vehicles. If you dont have a consealed license, they have to be visable from at least three windows at all times, and unloaded with any ammo in a different compartment of the vehicle. I have my consealed, so WATCH OUT CRIMINALS!

This is an excellent thing to see happening. It seems as though some states are taking back some of what has already been taken away. Yey for Indiana!
