Bright "star" or ?

Bright "star" over Aalborg in Denmark, Europe.

I filmed on feb 14 2009 a very bright "star" over Aalborg, Denmark.
It is marby Venus. What do you think?

I'm gonna say Venus. But I did notice last week that it seemed unusually bright. I live in the western US and couldn't belive how bright it looked a few nights ago.

I think many people are talking about the same thing. There's another thread going. Its deffinately a noteable increase.

Check out this post I made in another thread, i'm just going to copy and paste because it explains the circumstances of these pictures:

"I think I know what your talking about. It first caught my attention in the amazon, and now back in Canada I'm looking to. It seems very different to me. I'm going to give the meta-physical opinion "more energy man, more light, global warming is affecting other planets, the sun, with its increased solar flares and what" . I do think it could be an increase in energy, and that its just venus or something that happens to be brighter these days. But I remain open to all possibilities.

I'll show you the pictures I took that blew my mind. The object had a halo just like the moon, and was much brighter and profound then the picture shows.

It was the amazon, so water vapour could be a factor, but we were having some dry days, but it was the start of the rainy season. I couldn't give an accurate direction though. It was a few weeks ago.

The trees there had a beautiful aura about them. The jungle was a deep experience for me.

Anyways if you want the high-res pictures let me know. I don't have .RAW versions because my camera has an option to take JPG's, which I prefer. But I can give you un-edited versions as the picture history might show, for those who know how to look into that sort of thing."

Venus is so bright because it's position from the sun makes it's atmosphere light up more. It will dim down a bit in march - april when it's path comes between earth and the sun

The brightening of Venus is easily explained and happens on a very regular and predictable basis. You just have to observe it over the year to understand how it works.

Venus travels in an orbit around the Sun. The Earth travels in a larger orbit, so Venus is on the inside track. They go around at different speeds, so sometimes, Venus is a long way from Earth, sometimes it's close. The distance varies between 261 million kilometers and only 38 million km. So when Venus is far away, it looks smaller and dimmer. When it's close it is bigger and brighter. That's what's happening right now. Venus is fast approaching Earth and will continue to brighten until late February. It will then overtake us and start to move away, getting smaller and dimmer.

Brightness also depends on its phase (where it stands in relation the Earth and Sun). At the two extremes Venus varies in brightness by a factor of 2 or so (optical magnitude -3.8 to -4.6).

This bright pulsating star is being widely talked about I first noticed it last August & found to my amazement there seems to be a news blackout on it. It is visible most nights & anyone can clearly see it is not the same as normal stars apart from the fact its much bigger its also new. The best explanation I have been given so far by those in the know is this: The star you mention is a pulsar called PSR J1903+0327 it has scientists stumped as it behaves unlike any pulsar so far recorded. Hope this helps

Actually you can't definitely say it's Venus, there's no point of reference so it's just a single point of light being filmed.

The odds of it being Venus are, of course high

The first one is definitely Venus.
The other 2 I don't know.
They could be anything really couldn't they.
