Owning Guns Make You a Bad Person?

Here is what I see from many of our European members :

"Nothing in my house is worth taking the life of a criminal"

(you worked for it, you payed for it, why LET someone else just take it and most probably never get caught as burglary rates solved are in the single digits just so they can do it again and again... or even worse, the criminal is violent and rapes / murders. And NO we are not psychic and know if the criminal is armed or not or what his intentions are but allot of our anti-gun friends think people are psychic and know if a criminal is armed or not... ridiculous

Here is the American view

"Nothing in my house is worth YOUR life"

We don't care if a criminal gets shot though it usually doesn't come to that... better them (The Sons of Beeches performing a crime) than us.

Criminal will possibly face instant death and it IS a huge deterrent.

Also, we don't want to turn into a "victim" society as we see overseas, banning knives, coddling criminals, prosecuting those who defend themselves... That kind of behavior is Insane and Naive to us bordering on stupidity.

Im always amazed with the responses from people who live in countries where guns are outlawed. Hmm remember WWII? Hello Mr. Nazi, please take what you want and throw my neighbors in the furnace since we are unable and unwilling to defend ourselves. If we let you take what you want Im sure you will just go away and leave the rest of us alone.
