There you have it. Perfectly true statement. It's too bad politicians don't give a rats ass about the Constitution anymore.

Nobody listens to Ron Paul. I personally like him, but everybody I talk to in the general public either A:hasn't heard of him, or B: thinks he is a nut-job who wants to destroy the IRS.

His message just doesn't resonate with the general public, no matter how much ATSers want it to. I'm with you, I wish more people would listen to him, but he is little more than a caricature, a joke, to the public.

That's because the Republican party and media portrays him this way. This interview was actually respectful and allowed him to get his points across. I remember watching the Republican primaries and John McCain and others were laughing and ganging up on him and never even attempted to debate the issue. I'm not American but I wish to see America return to the great nation of the past and I believe Ron Paul is the real change that is needed. However even if he were elected congress would still be currupt and he wouldn't be able to get anything done. I don't know what can be done about that.

I'm with you. I wish more people would heed the warnings of Congressman Paul, but I know that they wont. After our destruction we will look back an opportunity wasted, but we Americans are holding tight to our debt do not want to bleed in order to heal. We are not even close to being at that point yet. Almost everyone I talk thinks we are now at the bottom and things are going to get better. I see things getting much worse myself.

His politics are a little bit on the extreme conservative side.. if 90% of the populace loves Socialism in some form*, Libertarian ideologies don't stand a chance.

*Democrats and Republicans, two socialist parties.

Following the constitution is not a conservative or liberal issue either. There is no mention of political party of affiliation in the constitution. What he proposes is a return to our constitution, to look for the answers there. I fail to see where that is extreme conservatism when we haven't seen any conservatism out of conservatives in more than 20 years.

I think what Rock is saying people love their big government. Americans dont understand what America was founded to be. There was big government all over the world. America was to be different, smaller government and more freedom. The people today dont want this it seems. Through the dumbing down and rhetoric taught in our government backed schools our people have been conditioned to think that big government is THE only way.

"I don't even like big government in Washington, let alone having super government over our federal government, such as a North American Union, or the United Nations, or any of these organizations. It just means more government and more attack on individual sovereignty, which is the real issue"
~ Ron Paul

Ron Paul is an honest incorruptible man.

That is why he will never be president.

Kucinich seems pretty decent too.
