"Sec. 1604. None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available in this Act may be used by any State or local government, or any private entity, for any casino or other gambling establishment, aquarium, zoo, golf course, or swimming pool
We demanded last time that the bill not pass but it was forced through under threat.
Wasn't it the BANKs and Major Financial Instutitions that got us in this Mess In the 1st place? How did we end up bailing them out anyway? I think the most simplistic answer would have been to "Bail Out The People".
In a different thread I point out that I found an appropriation within the bill for $650,000,000 for "Academic Achievement Awards"
I hate to say it but those awards are just printed on plain old paper. What do they need so much money for that for? My kids get them every now and then. In fact my son even got a music award this year just a plain white piece of paper with a foil seal on it. Either that or NC schools are cheap. If they are Obama owes my kids about $5,000 for the past few years worth of awards. No the bill is stupid. Just down right stupid. Fixing the roads is not going to get jobs for people that have been layed off.

Detention Trustee
For an additional amount for ‘Detention Trustee’, $100,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2010.
This one is especially frightening. Detention Trustee? We are giving $ 100 million dollars to a 'Detention Trustee.' Don't tell me this trustee is Blackwater (now called 'Xe'), or some other private security firm contracted to stand guard at 'Detention Centers.'
Again, I'm not entirely sure what this is, does anyone have any idea about this concept or has anyone seen the language before?
