Is anyone surprised? Really now.

BASRA - Fifty days after the first reports that the U.S. forces were unloading weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in southern Iraq, new reports about the movement of these weapons have been disclosed.

Sources in Iraq speculate that occupation forces are using the recent unrest in Iraq to divert attention from their surreptitious shipments of WMD into the country.

An Iraqi source close to the Basra Governors Office told the MNA that new information shows that a large part of the WMD, which was secretly brought to southern and western Iraq over the past month, are in containers falsely labeled as containers of the Maeresk shipping company and some consignments bearing the labels of organizations such as the Red Cross or the USAID in order to disguise them as relief shipments....

"Given the recent scandals to the effect that the U.S. president was privy to the 9/11 plot, they might try to immediately announce the discovery of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in order to overshadow the scandals and prevent a further decline of Bushs public opinion rating as the election approaches."

Thats typical of this Administation though. Utterly inefficient bunch of reprobates. Can't even pull off a scam without screwing it up. I would have thought they would have finished planting the stuff by now !

I bet they still can't find them.

Good bet its a solid story. I started a thread on this awhile back. I think it got trashed or something. Folks were trying to say it was BS.

Not.

Bush is in desperate need of an October Surprise.

Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz have knowingly fomented this uprising in order to divert attention away from their clandestine activities.

Take it to the bank.

While not a Bush-supporter and while acknowledging that he isn't above trying to pull something like this off, posting obviously biased websites that pose as news orgs kind of ruins the credibility of the story.

This story has not gone away, despite attempts to make it so.

It is now on Common Dreams. There's something to it.

My only problem with this is that Iran was the first to break the story, and after some of the other crapola they post over there I'm going to wager it's not true. Not that I don't think Bush would do something like this, but I do think this particular incidence is false because of the Iran factor.

This could be propaganda. It could also be the truth. As I said, watch who picks it up. If it is bogus, no one credible will touch it. Common Dreams is credible.

Having said that, Iran media is to be looked at with a jaundiced eye. Always.

Recently discovered evidence suggests that the Bush administration is working with the British government to secretly capture and imprison the "Easter Bunny".

NOT A JOKE.

Only with repeated calls to your local congressman (or woman) ,denouncing this abomination, can this attempt be thwarted!!

I have put my faith in you to do the right thing and start calling!!

As always,
Keep The Faith

Bastards already got the Tooth Fiery I haven't lost a tooth since I was a kid and that was a good source of income

But back on subject, doesn't matter if they find WMD now, anything at this point is a plant. Remember Rumsfield said we know where those weapons are.

He probably said that b/c they sent a band of spooks in to plant them during the invasion. It was a disaster. A regular Army unit mistook them for the enemy and killed most of them. Several were said to be missing, also.

No it is crap. There is no proof of that because it did not happen.

If they were planting the evidence out there, don't you think that they would make sure that they are not going to be disturbed while they are planting it?

If this is really an inside job they would have made sure that no allied forces were in the area until they were done and cleared out.

You'll believe anything that furthers your cause, even if it is not true.

US tried to plant WMDs, failed: whistleblower

Daily Times Monitor

According to a stunning report posted by a retired Navy Lt Commander and 28-year veteran of the Defense Department (DoD), the Bush administrations assurance about finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was based on a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) plan to plant WMDs inside the country. Nelda Rogers, the Pentagon whistleblower, claims the plan failed when the secret mission was mistakenly taken out by friendly fire, the Environmentalists Against War report.

Related/background:

One of the more egregious and embarrassing uses of fake material evidence occurred on the eve of the Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1961, when Alabama National Guard B-26 bombers attacked a Cuban Air Force base in Havana. When Cuba's UN ambassador protested, US Ambassador Adlai Stevenson (himself misinformed by the White House) insisted that the attacking planes were those of defecting Cuban Air Force pilots.
