SNOW DETECTED ON MARS!!!!!

American space agency Nasa says falling snow has been detected for the first time on the planet Mars.

The unmanned space robot Phoenix detected flakes falling from clouds 2.5 miles above the red planet.

WOW!!! there must be life of some sort on mars!

what a find! (remember the publicity it had when they found ice on mars) Now a weather system that can form snow and move water around surly thats big news!

Snow=Life?
There has always been ice and stuff on the poles of Mars, this is just the first time we've seen it fall.

I don't think that water means that there HAS to be life, but it probably makes it easier.

Good to know we are not alone and that our Martian friends are also having to deal with global warming.

I agree it wont gaurantee life is on Mars at all, but could make it easier, or at the very least it can mean things might be a little easier for humans if and when we decide to colonise or at least visit. Still this is fairly big news.

The images from a satellite can be interpreted, it could be snow and again it could be not... I belive it is a possibility but not a certainty

It's certainly worth posting if it hasn't already been discussed or mentioned. The article is from October 08. There's an excellent site here featuring images and a reasonable GIF animation. The NASA account is here. The next adventure is whether to go to Europa or Titan.

Methane has also been detected on Mars which can be cause by one of two things. Biology and geological movements. The latter is unlikely.
