Just a little theory..could UFO's really be US?

First of all...I apologize if this has already been discussed on here; I occasionally lurk and really have only posted in the paranormal section. I see dead people..haha..but REALLY want to see a UFO.

Anyway..a good friend/coworker of mine and I used to talk about UFO's and ghosts, etc. He gave me something that I have really thought about regarding UFO's (he has since died of cancer and now he knows all the answers that we talked about ). His theory was that what if UFO's that we (well everyone but me..boohoo..) see are actually US? Meaning US in the future looking back..like time travel? I mean it could be possible..right? I have no doubt that in the future we will have the means to be in space..so why not think that we will be able to do backwards time travel. Does this make sense?

I honestly believe that there is other life out there besides us..but if there is why would they choose planet Earth out of all of the planets out there?

Just a theory..call me crazy...but would love to hear anyones thoughts on this.

It's an interesting idea, no doubts there.

I always figured that the UFO's were just the Air Force testing new aircraft. A LOT of the pictures of secret German aircraft plans from World War 2 look a lot like the UFO's spotted around the Cold War Era.

Them being us from the future... I don't know.

I really like that theory. I have always thought that time travel into the past is impossible because if it were possible, then wouldn't we know about it from someone in the future traveling back in time to us? But then that opens up the whole destiny/fate discussion too though.

UFO's being future forms of ourselves would take care of that though, interesting! I'm not sure if I really believe it, but I really don't know what I believe about time travel and the like anyways.

Yes, the time travel hypothesis have been debated at length here on the UFO & Aliens forum.

We can only speculate on why they would choose to visit our planet, our reasoning and motivations might be completely different from theirs.

I have one question though: you ask why out of all the planets out there they would choose ours. Well, how do you know they aren't going to other planets? You can't really know can you?

So perhaps there's (one of) the answer right there: there might not be anything special about us, we're just part of their routine of inspecting planets.

Of course, if you look at the ancient Aztec Temples, there are some symbols that look like UFO's that we see now. And to think of the ancient races being able to build such structures back then, and then just vanishing... the theory starts to hold more weight.

If this were true it would shatter the greatness of what life has to offer (that we haven't seen...which is a lot)

Frankly, There are too many planets, too many different organisms...the universe is thriving with life...I sincerely doubt we are watching ourselves in space ships...

This is one of those theories people can and will just shoot down immediately. It would be a huge let down.

We don't know the universe is thriving with intelligent life or even organisms.The only factual thing we know is that we are here,now(although even THAT is debatable on ATS) which means there is a possibility we are visiting ouselves from the future.Which although in your opinion doesn't even compare to the E.T. hypothesis, would still be by far the single most extraordinary discovery in the history of mankind,Nothing to scoff at.Don't get me wrong,aliens visiting would be cooler.Remember though even if it were to be proven that ufo's on our planet are humans ourselves in the future doesnt mean that other intelligent life doesnt exist in the universe.Hell what if it's a combination of the two:
Us from the future occasionally bumping into actual alien spacecraft.

i think one of the previous replies is correct. surely if we came back from the future. we would know about it from those people who came back??

i would go back and tell my past generations the winning lotto numbers for the future weeks for a start!!!

i think eventually we will find out the universe is teeming with life, both primitive and evolved and that we are indeed being visited from elsewhere.

thats my opinion anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the current belief something like this:

At the moment the event occurs the UFO and the current population (us) go down different realities or timelines. You could not hop onto the current timeline and continue on to the same point you left from. You would actually veer off your original time path. Likewise, us people on earth would continue on our own timeline thereby never actually seeing the UFO as it did not and would not exist in our reality.

This also means that when you go to return to your original departure date, there is a real good chance that what you left and what you came back to are two different realities.

I totally respect all of yalls opinions and responses....but what I'm saying is why would time travel back to us be so hard to believe? I in no way saying this is what I totally believe..just trying to figure out possibilities. And to me this seems like it could be possible...
