At least the Duggarts had their kids naturally, pay for them on their own (I think), and seem to be a rather normal, stable family.

The more that comes out about this woman, the more I think that these kids need to be taken away from her. No, she didn't plan for 8 (she had 6 implanted and 2 split into twins), but there is no way, with the questions about her mental state, that she will be an appropriate mother for these 14 children.

That's the thing, they don't take care of their kids. The older kids wind up raising the younger kids. Same thing is gonna happenw ith this one, only people view the duggart can as "Oh hey are so cute" and this lady as a whack job, anyone binging that many kid into the world is insane.

I may have been misinformed but I was told last night with this procedure it is the responsibility of the Dr. to determine whether the parent is fit to parent or has the ability to take car of the kids. Not sure of the exact but maybe someone here knows the law concerning this situation. If it is so, then the doctor could have more problems down the road.

They should take the kids away from her and adopt them out. If you wanna farm your uterus to get welfare you should be charged with crime and have your kids taken away. Either way I say if you have more kids then you can take care of they should be taken away period. Not fair to the kid to live in poverty because of your selfishness.

And if they do it again they should be charged with a crime. Have all the kids you want but you should be able to support them, its not my job to.

No. In the USA, doctors cannot turn away because you already have children. If the doctor - who is turning out to not even be board certified as an OB/GYN let alone a reproductive endocrinologist according to Forbes - believes the patient cannot make medical decisions, he can approach an attorney about it, but he better be able to prove it, otherwise, he can be sued.

First of all, I know she said she was studying to get a masters in counseling. Don't worry. She's not. lol

When I first got on the internet in 1995, I noticed that everyone claimed to be a doctor or lawyer. When I met that first chick I ever met from the internet, she assured me she didn't look like death warmed over. And when I asked my nephew if he knew what happened to my missing chocolate bar, he-with chocolate stained face, lips, and hands, assured me he didn't.

People lie.

Nixon lied. Clinton lied. Clemens, Vick. Michael Jackson, Boy George. George Michael, Pee Wee Herman. I lied to my teacher in 3rd grade. This list could go on forever.

Shouldn't child protection services step in at some point. I am pretty sure you are not allowed to live at a single dwelling residence with 15 people unless it's a 7 or 8 bedroom home.

She should be given a masters in backstabbing America. Our tax dollars are going to be what raises these kids. How can ANYONE be a good parent to 14 children???

The doctor that went along with this ruse should be stripped of his medical license.

It should be ILLEGAL to reproduce while on public assistance. She should be fined at the very least. Instead, she will rewarded with more tax dollar money.

I would like to know about her disability to. Allot more. What disability prevents you to go to work but doesn't prevent you from raising 14 kids in a 3 bed room home? What is the name of THAT disability?

This story does not make sense at all......she has no man in the house, just a sperm donor......her mother is having a hard time with the 6 at her house, now we have 8 more in the world. She has no home of her own. She wants to go back to collage for her degree. She has no job and she thinks she will get a job with her Master's.
Did any one tell her the job market is crap out there. Who is paying for school?
Who's babysitting 14 baby's while she's at school? Hospital bill???
I could go on and on but I'll quit here.
Clearly this woman is nuts and Family Services better step in here and take control of this case. She has NO idea or plan for her life let alone 14 kids.

Why does it matter if they had their children "naturally"? That is silly, and irrelevant to whether people who can't afford children should be having them.

Ultimately, if you are going to limit reproduction in any way, it has to be across the board - for those who need intervention and those who don't. Unless you are willing to not allow people to have automatic custody of a child born to them, it shouldn't make a difference and is incredibly discriminatory.

Also, the Duggars are running a scam by claiming to be a church. They are just as guilty.

It makes sense, If your on public assistance then its fairly obvious your not doing well enough to provide for yourself so you should not be allowed to bring another person into that situation. I know theres alot of situations, especially in todays job market that this rule wouldn't make sense in so of course it would need some tweaking. But on the surface it makes sense.

I made a thread a while back stating that people should also be drug-tested and come up clean in order to get welfare (of any kind, not as Miss 14 defines it. :@@

Some folks said no, that's government invasion of privacy, but I disagree... that person who appied for the welfare is asking the government and by proxy the taxpayers into their lives.

Since they are basically putting food into the welfare drawer's mouth I think they should have a say, to a degree, in what that person does with their life. I feel that since the welfare drawer is basically getting free money he should

A) be asked to prove that he is not drawing fradulently
B) not use the welfare to sustain a substance addiction
C) not reproduce until he can support himself without the welfare.At the very least, have no increase in benefits for additional children--accidents do happen.

I think the food stamp program should be revamped to work like WIC, in which people are given vouchers for basic igrediants. I was amazed by the amount of crap people bought with food stamps when I was a grocery store cashier. This would slash obesity rates.

I agree, even with the drug testing although I am usually against such things. The Welfare system needs to be revamped... Its like what my dad used to always say to me "as long as your living under my roof, you'll do as I say". Their using our money so restrictions on there actions should be considered... It will motivate them to get off the support faster.

On a side note, whats with the new avatar? I really dug the old one, lol... any chance I could get a link to it? not for use on the net of course just for personal enjoyment?

It doesn't work both ways--you can't ask the government to pay your bills at the same time you expect them to not pass a comment on your lifestyle., especially when it costs them/the taxpayer extra.

I don't want to pay for someone's irresponsible procreation or drug addiction.

Yes I agree, if they're going to live off of our money then they should accept restrictions on their lifestyle... I would make exceptions of course for those on legitimate disability, and for those on short term unemployment, especially in times like now... But all in all they yes there should be limitations placed on those collecting welfare.
