The bodies of four missing contract workers have been found in the Iraqi desert in shallow graves. The bodies are being reported to have been "mutilated beyond recognition".

American Bodies Found in Desert

Since the "seven" missing since Friday were workers from Halliburton/KBR division in Iraq, it is assumed that these are four of those Halliburton employees.

This leaves the location and status of more than 30 hostages from 12 countries unknown at this time.

ORIGINAL SUBMISSION:

"The bodies were "mutilated beyond recognition," according to two officials, but there was no agreement as to whether the mutilation was a result of the fire that consumed the convoy or was carried out after the attack and fire. One official said the number of bodies could not be precisely confirmed because of their condition.

No matter your opinion on this war, No one deserves this.

I am so saddend by this

* On an Odd Note, CNN Had this as Breaking News and now is nowhere to be found.

Very little info on it yet.
Here's the only link I've found so far:

FOUR bodies believed to be those of American contractors missing since an ambush on their fuel convoy west of Baghdad last week have been found in a shallow grave near the site of the attack, NBC News reported today.

Latest Press Release from Halliburton:

Halliburton and its subsidiary KBR today issued the following statement following confirmation of recovered bodies in Iraq.

We can not confirm that these are KBR employees. While we are not yet certain of the identification of these brave individuals, and no matter who they are, we at Halliburton are saddened to learn of these deaths and are working with the authorities so the families can begin the grieving and healing process. Every member of the Halliburton team receives warnings about the dangers of this work but these brutal attacks are unsettling and appalling. We will assist the employees families in any way we can to comfort and sustain them throughout this difficult time.

Our workers in Iraq are courageous volunteers in service to their country and their loved ones. They work alongside the troops in dangerous conditions but Halliburton employees have also had to endure political derision from home. Every civilian working in Iraq needs and deserves support from Americans especially now.

Each of the colleagues we have lost since our work began in Iraq has brought special skills and talents that helped the soldiers and/or alleviated the suffering of the Iraqi people. We extend both our prayers and thanks to each person who has made the decision to assist in this mission.

To protect the privacy of the employees' families, we will not release their names or discuss details of any incident at this time. We strongly urge you to respect the privacy of the families during this difficult situation.

We will continue to update this web site, so please check here for updates.
