Is there a Saint Birgitta in the Catholic canon, patron saint of Europe? Yes.

A 10 second Google search will tell you all you need to know about the historical Saint Birgitta, so I won't burden this thread with it.

I would, however, like to discuss saintbirgitta.com. If you do a YouTube search for anything conspiracy related you are BOUND to run across at least one video originating from SaintBirgitta.com.

Searching YouTube for "saintbirgitta" yeilds 1,870 results. One may remove the videos that are obviously reposts and responses quite easily. Nearly every video is annotated and contains similar spam in the info box.

The combination of words and topics in the user names suggests a SEO-like approach to dissemination of his/her message. This is why at least one video show up no matter what conspiracy you are looking for.

The videos themselves are often disjointed and, if you have annotations turned on, most of the annotations obscure the screen video itself for 15 seconds or more.

Beyond that searches are ... mixed. There's a few other domain names registered to the same individual, all relating to Saint Birgitta. They are all expired, however.

This doesn't have the hallmarks of a money making scam. There's no books or DVDs for sale, no ad banners, and a single link buried within the site that asks for donations.

Anyone have any further information on this? Is it some shut-in with an SEO how-to book or organized disinfo?

I have noticed some 'Conspiracy-related' sites out there are incredibly spammy as far as their SEO goes...

Personally, I think there are some notorious for spam methods of getting their link/info out to the world. I call this black hat, and it only lasts as long as it takes for Google to catch up with the method, and sandbox it so they cannot spam that way anymore.

Which leads me to the actual conspiracy part that I have been pondering. What if Google specifically allows these kinds of spamming of the SE?
I have been considering that Google is in bed with government for a long while.

And if I tried those spammy/black hat techniques with ANY of my sites, I would be sandboxed so nobody could ever find me again.

Just thought my opinion might be relevant.

I guess there is every shade of truther out there, and this guy is no different.

I've seen his videos and these seem interesting but the religious overtones are too much.

Glad you brought this up... those youtube videos really, really, really annoy me... maybe other ATSers have some info on the people behind the site and the youtube videos?

As for me - I haven't really thought about it too much though or attempted to read through all the text on the website for clues

The website looks to me like someone's attempt at getting a religious message out, and I just assumed that the youtube videos were an attempt to catch people looking for answers to life's mysteries and steer them towards their website and their "message" (a bit like jehovah witnesses and Mormons knocking door to door)

It's hardly hidden, kinda obvious to me.


Oh and as for the prophecies and revs of saint Sweden - #YAWN# - after all this time you would think the Jman would have come up with some new parables or something cool, maybe even a new magic trick - the water/wine one went down well, he needs to work on part two Origano! Srsly, they aren't very interesting as far as scriptures go, and thats really saying something.

So yeah i think he is is just a desperate Zealot trying to push some nonsense through any means possible, i looked for nwo hidden messages and stuff but it's all kinda bland middle ages kinda twaddle.

Well... as oddly as it may seem... that was kinda my thought, too.

Given the obvious Catholic overtones and the distinct lack of any critique of Rome, I'm guessing whoever runs this website is pro-Vatican.

No effort is made to tie the St. Birgitta material that is posted to the endless spam of religious oriented pseudo-conspiracy videos that obviously originate from the same place. I'm always shopping around for a new theory to play with... not much of a sales job.

I also can't think about the logistics of this kind of thing.

How many hours does it take to produce 1800+, ~10 minute videos, complete with annotations of "appropriate" biblical scripture? If each video is unique... that's 300 hours of footage. Assume 1 hour of footage requires 3 hours of compilation time... that's 900 hours. Half a year of work at 8 hours a day for 5 days a week.

Wow.

What's with the multitude of languages? Not Google, Alta Vista, nor Yahoo! translate them correctly, which leads me to believe this was a "by hand" translation and not a site written in one language and then translated repeatedly by software. I couldn't even find an online Tamil translator that worked worth a damn.

Is this really one guy? The fact that this could be a group of people definitely increases the creepy-factor.
