Schoolkids may wear reflective safety vests to and from school

QUEENSLAND students may soon be wearing reflective safety vests to ride or walk to school under a plan being investigated by the State Government.

"It's a safety issue. Obviously, the vests would be for kids who ride their bikes to school and maybe younger ones who walk to school and have to cross crossings or roads," Mr Welford said.

This might seem insignificant but I think it's another control step that's not necessary.

At what point do we stop being ridiculous when trying to protect children? It's another 'plastic bubble' measure that's designed to protect children from everything, without educating them about looking after themselves or improving their self-awareness.

I strongly disagree with compulsory uniforms. It's conformity and conditioning. Why do they want to wrap childre

You don't have children do you?

If it even saves one kid, then it is worth it.

And we can ditch the vest when the idiot drivers all leave.
Like that will happen.

We can't even get people to slow down on our street, full of kids, some autistic.

Excellent.
Now the child predators will find it much easier to abduct children wandering back from school in reflective orange vests.
