I was talking to Sihq about this.. If a person of mixed ancestry, say European and Asian is maybe pale white until about puberty, is it possible for this person to suddenly pick up a different, darker more asian like skin tone around puberty, or even later in life?

It can be possible for this to happen, but sometimes it is the case that there has to be some kind of trigger to start the pigmentation. This could be something as simple as in reaction to harmful sun rays as to which the pigmentation of the darker skinned parents' ancestry ould have as their natural protection

actually, it's impossible. the gene for light skin is dominant over dark skin. puberty only affects the brain and the reproductive system. puberty is also made to cause the person to look more appealing to the opposite sex. skin color has nothing to do with this. once puberty is over, then comes aging where most of ur genes are turned OFF. skin color doesn't change for your entire life unless u go tanning or artificially do something to your skin (like michael jackson) *shivers*
