Thought I would revive this old thread because I am getting e-mails about this.

A patent would be needed for this or else someone would get a hole of it and patent it for themselves.

It would be nice to patent it and never enforce the infringements. That would be a good person who did this.

StargateSG7 sounded pretty excited about it and thought he might be able to do something for far less than the $10 million Bernard Haisch thought was needed to do the research, but stargate seemed to drop off the map so to speak after his last post. I wonder what happened?

How much will it cost?

Actually, StargateSG7 is very much alive and well in doing some work
on creating custom clean rooms for microcircuit fabrication that will allow
me to create a sub-2 micron micro-plate circuit which will take advantage
of the LIKELY use of the Van der Waals forces used for large scale
electron capture and discharge.

I have been merging three different technologies over the last 4 years
which will significantly advance the state-of-the-art in low-cost end-user
chip fabrication AND enhance the low-cost design and construction of
power generation technologies that take advantage of some common
physics principles to offer nearly-free energy. It is these long-term
investigation and verification of MULTIPLE technologies which
need to be converged which has seen me disappear from
the face of the Earth, although I have been active in OTHER
ATS forums. As a Video specialist, software designer and
CNC machine systems designer/fabricator, many of the
advances required to even START on the road to nearly free
energy production have required significant R&D into computer
science and other fields which has taxed me and our stakeholders
both personally and financially...however we have some specific
advances as outlined in our Canada-based SRED reports which
are filed every year for tax and legal purposes, which offer those
in the know some insight as to what will be coming out of our
R&D lab. I can't say much as to the technical workings of our
products but I CAN SAY that our software systems CAN BE USED for
purposes, including but not limited to, the design & fabrication
of "Nearly Free Energy Production Devices" at microscale
and macroscale levels.

Since the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics still applies, this is NOT OVER-UNITY
or "Free Energy" but NEARLY FREE energy production for a set length of
time. Similar in operation to a battery but using the principles inherent
within current studies of Van der Waals forces interacting within
micro-scale constructs. While not intended nor destined to replace
large-scale power production systems, these systems CAN offer
nearly noiseless operations for specific periods of time which
would be ideal for short term consumer & commercial emergency
power generation and small-scale, long-term off-grid power production
in remote or rural locations.

The Jovion patents are exclusive to that company, however they do not
preclude a second party to create and file for a Technical Improvement
patent that builds upon principles outlined by Jovion. An appropriate
sub-licencing schema is the normal course of business for these types
of patents which would likely be bought up by the IBM, Toshiba, Seimens,
Philips and other large-scale semiconductor companies who have the
technical and financial ability to mass produce microcircuit based electron
capture and discharge systems.

In my case, I have been working on a commercial product called Midgrid
(www.midgrid.com) which is an inexpensive neural-net based
software system which can be applied to specific problem solving tasks
which includes, but is not limited to, autonomous chip/microcircuit design,
autonomous Finite Element Analysis and 2D & 3D control of multi-axis
precision CNC machines within inexpensive CAD/CAM/FAE environments.

To put it mildly MANY of my current development tasks and programs
have met with the "Usual Delays" and technical hurdles that have
required significant financial and technical resources to overcome.

In short, i'm late for almost everything....however this does not mean
I haven't had any successes...quite the opposite...some of my R&D
work has founded some SPECTACULAR BREAKTHROUGHS which
will be introduced......Listen for it!.....REAL SOON NOW !!!!!

I'll keep you updated as our introduction date moves ever closer within
the next few months which will allow me to converge numerous technologies
into one massive and monolithic technical design and production system.

So then another question is---does it take work to push these atoms in and out of the cavity? I bet it will. Maybe the effect is so complicated and hard to figure out that it's not at all apparent theoretically. (This happens frequently).

The catch is going to be in the "enter into" and the "emergence from" parts of the business.

For instance, if the atoms inside the cavity are somehow in a lower energy state because of Casimir effect on the walls---then doens't it seem natural according to normal physics that they would resist wanting to 'emerge outward'? I.e. you'd have to pull against a force, and thereby exert work for the atoms to gain extra energy.
I think you hit the nail on the head with that analysis. Here's a schematic:

The gas won't go in and out all by itself, so that's why you need a pump. I also think the pump will need to overcome the resistance of emerging outward.

Therefore if he's lucky, the power extracted from the device will be almost enough to run the pump, meaning net energy input to the system is required.

I don't expect to see a net output of power.
