don't eat the yellow snow, and don't eat the FEMA peanut butter. Seriously, as much as I hate FEMA, this can't be blamed on them. Meals of this
sort would probably be prepared well in advance, similar to MRE's.
Living through this ice storm in Arkansas, (and it's not the first one I've been through), taught me that we have become way to complacent. We have
become spoiled by TV, electricty, computers, and the internet.
I purchased a generator Tuesday, even though I had power back on Friday evening.
I live in an all electric home, something I was against, but when Mama speaks, I have learned to listen. We are compiling a list of things we need to
survive any disaster, winter or summer. including non-perishable food items.
There is a weird irony in this, because we had been discussing, since early fall, emergency preperation for winter, including a generator, hot plates,
propane heaters, etc. But we just kept putting it off.
No longer. Every payday we will purchase items that will help us survive and keep in touch with the world.
