Read all the associated information with the video. She didnt spray him with mace. He sprayed HIMSELF with mace while trying to mace her for nothing. She wasnt doing anything violent to him at all when he brought out the mace. He was a bonehead, sprayed himself with mace, and took it out on her.

She was also kneed. The cop on the left side kneed her like 3 or 4 times while she was getting held down. Watch it again. Now some may say "she was resisting arrest" but I think you would do the same in that situation. The cop sprayed himself on accident and then got mad and threw her off the bike in anger. Threw her backwards off the bike onto the concrete! After that, I would assume she was afraid for her life and started to fight back. Thats why I hate cops. Must have got beat up in school too many times and joined the force for revenge. There is probably some good ones but I have never seen any where I'm from. Just a bunch of power hungry pricks who take there anger out on unarmed people. Where is the crime?? I really cant stand cops like that. The ones who just ride around following you to make sure you do something illegal. Dont you have anything better to do besides getting bike riders off the sidewalk?

WOW...you people are blind. He never pulled his OC spray! She sprayed something in his face then tried to put it in her left side jacket pocket! So the first unlawful act was committed by the sweet innocent drug possessing, warrant possessing scumbag. Then she resisted the other two officers who came over to help out. Stevie Wonder can see her resisting and fighting to NOT put her hands behind her back. So now she's 2 for 2..and thats NOT counting the drugs and warrants.

Now I will agree 100%..the 4 punches to the face were completly uncalled for. He should definitly answer for those and recieve his punishment..whatever that ends up being. But this BS of "shes the victim"....you people really need eye transplants or to stop being jaded by your hate..because most of you are WAY off base with who got the ball rolling. Again..watch the video CAREFULLY...the officer NEVER reaches for his OC Spray...but she sure tried to hide whatever she sprayed him with!

Holy Christ on the cross. I think you must be blind. Or illiterate. Can you not read? The fact that he sprayed himself isnt even contested by him.

And she didnt have a warrant for her arrest at that time. It was issued because of this event.

She DID have coke on her, and it probably wasnt planted, as she failed a drug test later, and they didnt force her to do that.

But he had no way of knowing she had coke on her just because she was riding her bike on the sidewalk. And he never would have known that if he had followed the law himself.

LOL...Sure, I will go ahead and blindly believe ALL writings done by prison planet. Because they are a TRUSTWORTHY, RELIABLE, NON-BIAS source of information.

Nowhere on the video can you show me where he pulled out anything on his duty belt...and tell me, what is she trying to hide in her left side jacket pocket AFTER the officer grabs at his face??? Also note..NOTHING falls from his hands or is in his hands AFTER she sprays him...

It was obvious she deserved every strike, she was obviously resisting arrest and a violent offender that was a danger to the police. Thankfully this cop used restraint and didnt shoot her, as his life was obviously in danger.

Good one eh?

This video was sickening, a restrained, detained woman punched in the face by a cop? WTF is wrong with him? I am glad he is no longer on the force. People like that don't deserve to be a LEO.

Perhaps you are right, we should just accept that the officer was just doing his duty and this woman is a scumbag riding her bike at 6:00 in the morning. Or what ever the time of day is/was.
Ok, the cop is always right, I get it, he is the victim here, I understand, I'll be good now, I'll take my medication and not question authority anymore, Mr. Sir.
Perhaps you are right, the world is wrong. I believe you and those poor misunderstood policemen. After all, a women on crack is potentially more harmful than two, three, or four armed and trained policemen. I believe you.
I now believe that the newspaper report was also wrong, possibly a conspiracy against hard working and dedicated police officers and that the officer didn't really spray himself as it was reported and that his hand didn't reach to his belt a few seconds before he sprayed himself with mace.
I'll also refrain from ever viewing this type of video on my big tv screen where it becomes obvious, I'm sorry, it appears that the officer did this to himself.
I now have you to thank, and I do thank you oh kind sir for setting me straight.

she sprays him???

The cop admits it's his spray!!!!>>>

I invite anyone to view the dash cam video while reading a copy of her complaint. You will clearly see the frivolousness of her suit and the outright false statements contained in her complaint. During the incident, I was accidentally exposed to police pepper spray and therefore was unable to see clearly.I was so affected that I could not even drive and had to be driven back to the police station. Every day that I worked the streets during my career, I learned that no stop was routine, and that the unexpected was to be expected. I stand by everything that I did that night and only ask for the same due process afforded earlier to the plaintiff.

Drogo writes in his own words that he already presumed the lady was guilty simply because of her presence in that location. The sidewalk ordinance was just an excuse for him to break her civil rights.

Hey I'll be the first to admit when I am wrong...and after watching the video on full screen and slowing it down I do see his left hand reach to the front of his belt. So ok, that out of the way..he sprays her...and himself...I got it.

BUT, she did have coc aine in her possession, she was riding in a high crime area outside what was normal..and obviously the officer used his knowledge of that to stop her...and she DID have a warrant for her arrest BEFORE this incident....so she is no little innocent here. I again say..she did NOT deserve to be punched in the face...AGREED 100%...no argument here...

Meanwhile, there's now a warrant out for Stevenson's arrest on drug possession charges stemming from her encounter with police that was caught on camera.

www.thedailyjournal.com...

Stevenson was charged with possession of coc aine, resisting arrest, providing false information to a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police.

Could you please source where you are finding that she had an outstanding warrant at the time of this incident? Because I am not finding anything that indicates that. You would think it would have been mentioned in the list of things she was charged for.

Edit to add;

Nevermind, I found it in Drago's statement.

www.courierpostonline.com...

And apparently my suspicions were correct, the plaintiff was under the influence and had crack coc aine in her possession, along with the fact that she had other outstanding warrants and decided to resist arrest.

Totally agree with you on that... but still it's a violation of her civil rights. she was complying to the officer commands...he had no right to frisk her or grab both of her arms. She was in the right to defend herself.

Exactly. The law has to work equally for everyone, including the cops.

I dont want to live in a country where a cops suspicion is the be all and end all of my civil rights. I want the Constitution to be.

This may have been answered later in the many posts after this. Yes, I saw flashing lights. That was the majority of the first 15 or so seconds. I was waiting to see this 'biker' that the story was talking about. You can clearly see he had his lights flashing.

Anyway, what gets me is that a taxi cab drove by then stopped and obviously witnessed the whole thing. I bet he is a key witness too.

Now, at first I was hoping to be able to defend the actions of this officer. However, I cannot. It was justice in itself that he sprayed his own face. What would have been very important was a clear audio of how he approached her. You see, if he approached her in an aggressive manner simply for riding her bike on the sidewalk then he escalated this issue WELL beyond where it should have been.

However, the fact that drugs were found on her after kind of explains why she wasn't cooperating with him at all. You see, here is where I try to defend why he approached her in the way that he did. We don't know if he recognized her as a usual criminal of the area. One who has been nailed on drug possession or what not. We don't know the whole story. He may have recognized her and knew that she had the potential for carrying drugs.

She didn't get off the bike thus he escalated this to the next level. Technically, this was all he needed. She had already broken the law and it was in his rights to force her to walk the bike home. She didn't get off. He touched her and she pushed him away. Then he sprayed himself in the face. He may have had the mace ready because he knew her to be a resister. Who knows.

Where the line is drawn is when the other two begin to knee her in the short ribs. That is beyond what is necessary to subdue her even though they still didn't have her in cuffs at that point. Then the idiot comes over and gives her the 1 - 2 four times upside the head. She still isn't cuffed at this point but there is NO CALL for that kind of action by the police officer. Then she gets her head stood on by the idiot that sprayed himself once they get her left arm behind her to get the final cuff on. There was so much that shouldn't have happened her.

However, when a person struggles as hard as she was I can see them applying pressure on her to cuff her. They need more than 1 police officer. It was obvious from the video that one man could NOT have cuffed here.

But it is still wrong what they did. Period. They crossed a line that should NEVER be crossed by the police. It's unfortunate that we are seeing this more and more. Not that it is happening more and more. It's just that video is more prevailent than in the past.

Sad story here.

I believe that her not getting off the bike is what caused him to escalate it. No officer wants to be away from his vehicle, approaching a perp who is on a bike. It's good that she stopped but she should have gotten off of the bike too. Is it clear that the officer did NOT ask her to do this?

Still, no excuse for what happened after. Period.

Why is riding a bike on a footpath illegal? (No, don't reply to me with all the crap about 'pedestrian safety' either. I don't buy it. I'm a pedestrian and a bike rider. I'm safe doing both.)

Are we that contolled as a society that the simple act of riding a push bike has to be only done in defined places and spaces.

She certainly got smacked up good for riding over the lines.

The NWO need to recruit cops in schools to smack down kids who colour outside of the lines with their crayons. Those little terrorists need to learn that they will comply with their handwriting and not write in codes, by going past the lines.
