From the Freedom States Alliance: Working to Reduce Gun Crime in America an interview with Joseph Lieberman, author of “School Shootings: What Every Parent and Educator Needs To Know To Protect Our Children,” (Citadel Press, Sept., 2008).

FSA: Do you believe there is a profile of a school shooter? Are there predictable patterns?

Joseph Lieberman: Yes and no. By that I mean the profile is morphing.

In the nineties, your typical school shooter had an above-average intelligence, small build, white, middle to upper-middle class student who had been bullied. Now it’s changing.

This century there has been an increase in the number of non-white school shooters, such as Seung-Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech shooter. Before him there was Kimveer Gill, for example, in Montreal who was from Indian heritage. On Sept. 13th, 2006, he shot 20 students, killing one young woman at Montreal’s Dawson College, using a 9-mm semi-automatic rifle, a .45-caliber pistol and a 12-caliber gun that can pump four bullets with each squeeze of the trigger. Kimveer was obsessed about using firearms to make up for his shortcomings, writing, “I love guns… I really do. The great equalizer.”

www.freedomstatesalliance.com...

Gotta love the experts.

What he is apparently referring to is a sawed-off Remington 870 12 gauge pump that was found thrown into the bushes by the Dawson College shooter. Suddenly a run of the mill pump shotgun has become a 12 caliber (12 inch diameter cannon?) tube launching 4 simultaneous projectiles. I think 000 buck is 6 pellets.

These "experts" are the ones swaying public opinion on the bias of stupidity and pushing for government to reflect equal stupidity with legislation.

But of course this is one of those "feeling" issues in which the ends justifies the means. Now where did I put my ceramic, full-auto, assault handgun with the armor piercing ammunition? I must have left it on the plane I took last week.

Lieberman is a schmuck. I'll bet he pumps four loads of shot off with each squeeze of his trigger every night while looking at a Photoshopped shirtless poster of MacGuyver, or some other gun hating troll.

It's important for these losers to mix terms up so that the uneducated masses don't know what they're talking about. That way it's easier to string people along into supporting gun-grabbing agendas.

Great example: The "assault weapons" ban, which banned weapons that weren't assault rifles at all.

thisguyrighthere, you have a gun as your avatar and you don't know anything about guns or ammo? You really are trying to fool people with that avatar.

You wrote: "Suddenly a run of the mill pump shotgun has become a 12 caliber (12 inch diameter cannon?) tube launching 4 simultaneous projectiles. I think 000 buck is 6 pellets."

A 12 caliber gun is basically a BB gun, not a gun with a 12 inch diameter bore like a cannon.

000 buck is the size of the pellets, not the amount of pellets.

Perhaps he also found one of those ceramic Glock 7s that can go right through an airport metal detector while he was writing this garbage.

Media gun cuckoos are more dangerous than any gun owner.

He was quoting the article. *facepalm*

See there, in the part of the quoted text, where he put in boldface the part he was commenting on?

He is not ignorant. He is making fun of somebody who is.

No. It's clearly you that doesn't know anything about guns or ammo here. When people say things like "22 caliber" or "50 caliber", they really mean .22 or .50 caliber. it's the percentage of an inch. While "12 caliber" could be construed as 1 foot, generally, for large guns, the caliber refers to the length of the barrel as a multiple of the bore size, and they refer to the bore size in inches or millimeters.

Anyway, it should have been obvious it's a joke.

mdiinican it is obvious that "you" are still confused about guns in the manner that you wrote about them.

A 12 caliber gun is about the size of a BB gun just as I wrote, it is no where near the size of a 12 inch gun as you still refer to in its length.

12 caliber means that it is .12 inches in diameter, it has nothing at all to do with the length as you state. BB guns are usually between .177 to .22 caliber, and .12 is about the size of a BB gun, but it is still smaller than the normal BB gun.

I've been around guns all of my life, almost 50 years, so don't try to fool me about your gun knowledge.

if you'll look ANYWHERE, you'll find that everyone uses the nomenclature .xx caliber. We don't SAY that because there's no concise way of pronouncing a decimal point. Like how we don't write 30 aught 6 when we mean .30-06.

.50 caliber is half an inch. .12 caliber is .12 inch. 1 caliber is one inch.

For example:

www.fas.org...
FAS.org seems to think the M2 is a .50 caliber HMG. if 50 caliber is half an inch, then they are implying that it fires bullets .005 inches in diameter.

www.globalsecurity.org...
Globalsecurity thinks that this is a .50 caliber rifle.

Look in any book, or search Google, and all the results will be prefixed with a decimal point. I think you're just being a defensive internet tough guy.

mdiinican, either you can't read the English in my post, or you need glasses bad. You had better re-read my post slowly and look to see exactly what I stated, and exactly where I have the decimal points. Furthermore, I have not changed any of my posts because they are all still correct.

Then you had better re-read what you have wrote in your posts.
