I don't know if there is another thread about this. I didn't know about it until just now after I read a swedish magazine called Illustrerad Vetenskap (Illustrated Science). It was a really old number, so sorry if I'm late with this.

Anyway, everyone remembers this photo right?

Actually, the person who took the photo admitted he faked it. I forget what he used (maybe a person on this thread will remember), but the most famous Nessie photo has been proven a hoax.

Good work on the elephant theory, but getting one to go into the frigid water may take a lot of coaxing.
