ABC's Diane Sawyer to McCain: 'Are You Offended' by Rush Limbaugh?

"Good Morning America" host Diane Sawyer on Monday repeatedly pressed Senator John McCain to attack Rush Limbaugh's assertion that he hopes Barack Obama's liberal policies fail. After playing a selectively edited clip that implied racial overtones and left out all context of what the radio host meant, Sawyer challenged, "Are you offended by what he said?"

Boy oh boy...I can't understand why the Rush attacks have started so soon.

Diane is going for the cheap shot here, that's obvious, but why is the way, way left so scared. It still with in the first 100 days of Mr. Obama's term.

Could it be that Rush is right and these new policies of the President really have no teeth??

Could it be that he was slick enough to get into the White House and now that he's there he realizes that the changes that he campaigned on are nothing but smoke and mirrors and pipe dreams?

Could it be that the conservatives smell a rat and the Rush is, as usual, leading the charge?

If there is any truth in that last statement, then Rush needs to be stopped at all costs, according to the way lefties. If you cut the head off the snake....

Im not a big fan of Rush but I did listen to what the man said in the days before the election and Rush did say that Obama would try to get him off the air or something along those lines.

Maybe Rush was right? Maybe this is the beginning of an assault on him? I dunno, he did say something that some could have interpreted wrongly. I guess if Rush is yanked off the air or forced to leave we will know if it was part of a plan because I doubt that Rush will keep quiet even if he is off the air.

You know, I think all politicans and others in the limelight, know when they are interviewed by the press these kinds of questions will be asked if it is a media story at the time. They don't care how they get their answers or how they phrase their questions. It is shameless.

Rush is like a bad habit. For me like cigarette smoking. I always say I am going to quit, but I keep going back.

Regardless of all his rants, he can be mezmerizing at times with his comments.

Assault? Just as "Joe the Plumber" what it's like to be at the end of the democratic wrath stick. The dems with the help of their tool, the media destroyed that man because he questioned Lord Obama.

They'll protect this shyster Soetoro at all costs.

Rush Limbaugh as far as I know has never said anything as bad about Obama as Keith Olbermann has said ad nauseum about GW Bush.

I don't bother to listen to Limbaugh and even when I agree with him, I still am acutely aware that he is just an entertainer with a political theme.

Keith Olbermann on the other hand is in my opinion a traitorous, lying worm who should be prosecuted and jailed at the very least.

Bush never saw fit to mention Keith Olbermann and his attacks.

It seems extraordinarily petty for Obama and the left to start wailing on Limbaugh.

For all that's been said over the years about Republicans and conservatives, it seems that this is just more proof of which party is more likely to take the high road. Hint: it is not the democrats.

Hate to see obama's picture show up in the dictionary next to the word "petty" ...

rush put his foot in his mouth all by himself,,,,regardless if it's out of context or not

it's stupid,,,he gets 36 million to talk trash, divide and instill fear and hatred

and yes i believe in free speech and am conservative,,,but rush is a piece of garbage

and i have to say honestly,,,at least obama is trying,and telling us what he is trying,transparency ,, more than could be said of bush

Obama has never said a word against Limbaugh. Don't blame him for the criticism Rush has brought on himself.

I personally never listen to the guy, but he is, right now, the leader of the GOP. He says, "I want Obama to fail" and all the Senate Republicans fall into line. I understand they're really interested in Joe the Plumber for future office, too.

It's a sad state of affairs when a loudmouthed radio jock is the head of a major political party. But as such, he's got to be willing to take criticism from the left. He can't just dish it out and expect not to take some flak in return.
