Putin will never resign. Putin is the best PM/President russia has seen for many many years imo.

Putin gave Russians back a little pride after the humiliatingly harsh years after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Though if peoples standard of living returns anywhere near those dark days , his popularity will evapourate faster than Absolut Vodka.

Well from the article it looks like it was the usual suspects protesting - the delusional communists, the nutjob National Bolsheviks, and the United Civil Front members. These idiots protests anything and everything having to do with Putin, and usually get broken up because they never bother to get licences for protests.


What I am worried about is not these minority groups mentioned in the article, but beginning of protests in Russia by ordinary people who are mostly unsatisfied with new regulations, tax laws, and economy. Sadly these protests are now being broken up to, although they usually don't get violent at all. Putin and Medvedev must understand that banning protests will not make bad sentiments go away. If this economic crisis is streched out for over a year, things in Russia will get even worse and there is no predicting what actions Putin and Medvedev will take next.

This also applies in other countries, and the more you browse ATS, you see a bigger picture.

There is debate on here about people in Britain (and other countries) losing their rite to protest. It looks like it is also happening in Russia.
