Bush, who used his weekly radio address to announce the veto, said the program had helped stop plots against a Marine camp in Djibouti and the U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, and plans to fly passenger planes into a Los Angeles tower or London's Heathrow Airport and city buildings.

"Were it not for this program, our intelligence community believes that al-Qaeda and its allies would have succeeded in launching another attack against the American homeland," the president said.

This man, Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma addresses some facts starting from the Clinton/Gore administration and the approach they took considering the military in the United States to the Bush/Cheney approach. So that you don't have to watch all 40 minutes of the video (But I think you should) I have pointed out a couple of parts. 23:45 is where he begins to talk about foiled plots the President thwarted. Not all were from waterboarding but they were all due to the Patriot Act that was passed by Congress. He explains that Bush's legacy will be an "invisible legacy" because these thwarted attacks never occured and for some jacked up reason were never told to the American public through the media. 27:00 into the video he talks about Guantanamo Bay and the conditions the prisoners lived under. 37:00 into the video he summerizes all of the attacks that did not occur due to Bush's policies.
