Charleton Heston's basement ?(vault photos)

This is a cool view of Charleton's basement weapons vault, this is deffinatly a place I'd like to be when TSHTF!
I'm not claiming fact on this as I recieved this via e-mail but cool none the less.

Given the tendency for people to attach urban legend-like stories to the best known exemplars of their subject matter, it's not surprising that photographs of a large gun collection would end up being associated
with Charlton Heston. The Academy Award-winning actor was a staunch public proponent of gun ownership rights in his later years, he served five terms as president of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and his name was much in the news (because he had recently died) at the time these photographs began circulating. Hence the claim that the extensive gun collection pictured in the above-displayed photographs was stored in the basement of a home Heston owned (and was presumably photographed after his death as part of the process of inventorying his estate).

However, the gun collection shown here actually belonged to Connecticut resident Bruce E. Stern, an attorney and active gun collector who belonged to several military- and firearm-related organizations and who also served on the NRA's board of directors. Mr. Stern passed away in July 2007, and when a portion of his collection was auctioned in March 2008, it was part of "a new benchmark for the highest grossing firearms auction in history":

Do I see a dillon in there? Ugh, I would do anything for a vehicle-mounted dillon. If only to scare people, that thing is amazing.

I got this in an e-mail so I can't verify the authenticity of it but I think it might be real. He has long been known to be an avid gun collector and with money like that he could build quite an inpresive collection.

That thing is just freaking amazing....would indeed make a nice addition to my car.......... (it would def. solve those d*mn trafficjams in a big [SNIP] hurry!!!!)

God, that thing just makes music. It is literally absurd in a small-frame battle.. But it still will tear apart nearly anything it touches on bullet heat alone. It melts most of its targets rather than tear it apart, given the amazing rate of fire.

Thats a perfect weapon, albeit completely inapplicable in strategic battle.

You're right, one shouldn't take snopes at face value but IF you had read the whole page you would have seen that the collection was sold at an auction, there is documentation of said auction.

Bruce was a gun rights activist for most of his adult life fighting for our rights at both the national & state level. He was on the N.R.A. Board of Directors for over a decade as well as co-founder of The Connecticut Sportsman Alliance, a Life Member and past President of Ye Connecticut Gun Guild, and the Ohio Gun Collectors. To name a few.

Alright guys, I read the links that were provided and I agree that this collection did not belong to C.H, I was at work before and could not devote the time needed to read through all of your information, point taken and thanks for leading me in the right direction I digress.... I still don't care for snopes too much
