Israel strikes in Gaza as Obama envoy holds talks

news.yahoo.com

Israeli warplanes bombed a weapons production facility in Gaza on Thursday after militants fired a rocket at Israel, in violence that defied the efforts of a visiting U.S. peace envoy to reinforce a ceasefire.

There were no reports of injuries from the predawn Israeli strike in the town of Rafah, along Gaza's border with Egypt. Witnesses and Hamas Islamists said a metal foundry was damaged.

*sigh*

Here we go again.

It only takes one stupid Palestinian to condemn their whole country. The peace is fragile at best at the moment, and the last thing we, the world, need and the last thing that Palestine needs is another war.

Enough innocents died in the past month, no more.

Hamas needs to rope in their fringe elements and keep a halt to the rockets. You can be sure that Israel, who had no qualms in decimating the nation over a few rockets last time, will launch an even bigger assault if these rocket attacks continue.

Neither side is right, and neither seems to want to back down. I just feel sorry for the innocent children, both Muslim and Jewish, that are suffering.

The phrase "a weapons production facility in Gaza" raises some questions in my mind.

If they knew of it prior to this rocket attack, why did they leave it standing?

If they didn't know of it, how did they discover it?

By triangulating the position of the rocket launch? Someone could launch one of these rockets from anywhere?

Does the fact that it was launched from that position make the location automatically "a weapons production facility in Gaza"?

Well; since they are hell-bent on maintaining this bloodbath I think we should let them. Unless of course the rocket launch was some kind of 'false flag', but - that's such a tired excuse, only done again and again throughout history. I don't know if we can trust any of them to tell us whats happening and why.

It's obviously suicidal to engage the Israelis. Why do it? If it is one person, or group of people, why punish the entire population? What are they supposed to do about it? It's not like any one of the citizens of the Palestine could change their leaders policies or actions.

Of course, then there would be no excuse to brutalize an entire population. Perhaps, we'll never really know.

They could have just got intel on this. Do to some of the regular facility's being unable to be worked in they have to be setting up others. In western countries it is normal for buildings to be build for a certain purpose. In places like the Gaza building can be built for whatever and then later be known as a hospital.
