Hear me out, I'm an american who's father was born in Mexico. His entire side of the family are from the Yucatan and I've been there 3 times myself. I've seen the beautiful culture, beaches, wonderful people, and have had some priceless experiences there.

I have also seen the corrupt cops, the miserable poverty, and crime that goes on. From what I understand about the mexican way of thinking is that if you come from nothing, then you just have to deal with having nothing. There really are no chances for the average person who wants to make something of themselves the way you can in the U.S. The #1 reason why they are crossing deserts and risking death to come to America. The government of Mexico has had it's chance to get with the program of taking care of it's people. I believe that the U.S. should just go in and take control of the situation.

How many chances should our neighbor to the south get? I'm sure you've read about the ridiculous crime and drug wars that are killing not only people, but killing the tourism and ability for the country to make money. I believe the U.S. should use military action agianst the corrupt government of Mexico and take over. Confisgate all natrual resources, and somehow take back control of the country in the name of it's people. Why Iraq instead of Mexico? Mexico has oil, gold, and beautiful beaches. Too bad you guys let the corruption get to you over there. we need to take action and truly liberate a country that deserves a chance at prosperity. HOW SAY YOU?

Why on Earth would we want to take over a country run by the drug cartels? We have enough problems trying to keep the drugs out of the country as it is. I doubt we need more to deal with in this depression.

I think the US should mind it's own business, take care of the problems in the US before spending my tax dollars on anymore BS adventureism in other peoples countries.

How do you think the military should liberate the Mexicans? Shock and Awe?

I do sympathize with the poor in Mexico; I spend alot of time in Mexico but the Mexicans need to deal with their problems of drugs and corruption not the US of A.

However I expect there are plenty of covert operators in Mexico. If they really wanted to do something; they would. But in international politics as in anything else; "money talks, BS walks"

I think the plans are already in action. Maybe not by military means, but do some reading on the North American Union, or the Amero. Just a week or two ago Mexico was put on a threat list, so the military options may become viable also.

I guess its just another one of the wait and see things we all must deal with.

The US is not in condition to take over any country right now. Right now we
are too worried if our country will survive with all the economic problems
we have. There's better fish to fry!

I think the citizens of Mexico will do what other countries citizens do when they get fed up with their government, they will overthrow it. For now they seem content with the way things are.

US has no business taking over Mexico.

Why would it be necessary to "take over Mexico"?
Why do you think we would have to "take care of them"?
Give them a choice. Let them vote on it. Let the American people vote on it and like we did in the Articles of the Confederation, where we invited Canada to join the U.S. offer Mexico the opportunity to become the next 5 American States or however many makes sense.
...and as a bonus it would solve the illegal immigrant issue to some large extent. It would be huge and would have amazing benefits as well as some daunting challenges but it could be done.
....there would be more jobs available then people to fill them. Think of all the new highways and infra structure that would need to be put in.
These new States could and would create amazing tax incentives for companies to relocate to their State. Like South Dakota did for Banks.
...Our government would be so busy with all the details that they would have no time for war for awhile. Housing would boom like crazy with people from the North flocking to the South because of jobs and weather and it being made a bit safer than it is now. No worse than Miami.
Once admitted then they would have elections just like any other state and the cartels and blatant militant leaders would be removed. FBI and local police would be busy and hiring more cops.
It would just be massive but we could use a big challenge that is for positive goals rather than fighting people across the globe.
....But of course if people vote it down...than its moot isn't it.
...any military solution or "take over" is simply retarded to even contemplate.

Mexico is poorly managed and corrupt. A little rule of law, infusion of American capitalism, and alot of hard work could make that geographic region a modern success story. As it pertains to the means of takeover, I have not figured out the best way to accomplish said goal. Maybe the corrupt ruling party could be bought off? Oh, and for the love of all things good, teach them all English!

America should be run by Americans (in the USA sense) and Mexico by Mexicans.

Taking over other countries is a business the US needs to stay out of, we usually just make things worse.

This is the way i see it.

We all know that there are people in America (powerful people) that want to create a NAU, But people in america don't realize that its about to happen. It is my belief that the drug cartels in mexico are being funded the US so that the problems over there will get so bad that the US will have to step in and go into Mexico before the problems spill into the US anymore then they have. I believe that this is all part of there plan.

I think we would be better off taking over Canada! That would get closer the vast oil reserves under the arctic ice!

From a purely political standpoint , we need to think ahead, plan for the future. Empires prospered as long as they were conquering new territory and expanding their horizons. We are now in a process of stagnation, crippled by political correctness.

Mexico is an economic failure. We probably wouldn't even have to use the military to gain control. Most Mexicans would give their firstborn to be US citizens.

Why should we help mexico? I say the hell with that third world cesspool. We should bring our troops home from iraq and put them on the mexican border with stk orders. Mexico is our biggest enemy.

I was thinking about this topic myself and surfed the wed to see if our government was going to do anything to help the people of Mexico.
I totally agree with you on this one.
Mexico's government is so corrupt, that people are suffering from it. Not just the people of Mexico, but also our own. We are neighboring countries that has a wall to separate us, but the bad things seep through our doors because our government won't lift a finger to help make a solution.
Who wants to live in a government tangled in gangs, drug trafficking, and so much more. I know I wouldn't!

Your words are inspiring and straight to the point! I like that! I would also like to help you spread the word, if I may?

To all those PEOPLE BELOW ME, SHAME ON YOU! May god judge you for your evil thoughts as he will on your actions. I live in the United States too and I'm not Mexican, but I've got heart... Mexico might be call a third world country, but they're right next door. Why don't you all do something and help your neighbors.
