Sen Byrd, of W Virginia: "Had he not been nominated for Treasury Secretary, it's doubtful that he would have ever paid these taxes."

Geithner contends that he "skipped paying some taxes because he was confused by the complexities of the tax code" (AP).

So, this is the best man to oversee the IRS and determine where a large portion of our tax dollars will go during this crisis? This man is going to help guide the country to economic recovery?

This man did not pay proper taxes for 4 consecutive years, "even though he was sent documents telling him he had to do so" (Politico).

Sen Tom Harkin questioned "how someone of Geithner's 'financial sophistication' could innocently not pay [his] taxes" (AP). Harkin puts it simply: "How can Mr. Geithner speak with any credibility or authority?"

Not to mention, anyone else would be serving time.

Well I guess that makes it OK not to pay taxes, hire illegals pay them cash and call it a mistake, seeing our illustrious senate gives a pass.
