Yes, there is a search option available here on ATS, but an idea just popped into my head.

Would it be possible to do an advanced search?

So instead of doing a search by keyword(s) only, you could do a search by 'most flagged' or 'by date' either as a single search or even combined together along with a topic or key word search. Maybe even add a wildcard search on user names or topics to help narrow the searches down to a specific thread instead of getting back 700 threads/posts on any given subject, for example.

Not only would this make life a lot easier for anyone trying to find the exact thread/post they need, it would also help those who are posting in the 'breaking alternatve news' forum.

I think this would also aid the original posters in locating their own threads that have long since passed into the abyss.

Well if you know the user you can just go to their profile page and see what they have posted and the threads they have posted. But yeah a more indepth search function would be nice. But it still works as it is.
