KUWAIT CITY (AP) -- The Saudi king said Monday his country will donate $1 billion to help rebuild the Gaza Strip after the devastating Israeli offensive and told Israel that an Arab initiative offering peace will not remain on the table forever.

King Abdullah's comments at an Arab economic summit in Kuwait City were his first since Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas declared a fragile cease-fire to halt three weeks of violence in Gaza that killed more than 1,250 Palestinians.

Good. At least someone is helping these poor victims of genocide.
The UN should send Israel a bill for each death and destroyed infrastructure.

Does anyone really think the money will be spent on rebuilding Gaza? Or schools? Or hospitals? Or water systems?

They get tons of money from outside sources each and every year, but the place is still a $#!Thole.

Maybe a little bit will be spent on infrastructure, but my money is on additional weapons purchases, and likely, this is the real intent of the Saudis giving them the money.

I thought Gaza got bugger all since the election of Hamas and it has been under Israeli blockade for about the same length of time as well, which is one of the reasons Hamas used for launching their attacks.

Getting money is one thing, but spending it is another. How is the reconstruction going to go ahead if Israel doesn't lift the blockade?

Did people forget that this is ONE THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS??

That can build them a few, new, universities and put every child and their dog to school and fed
