Great America Elected A Black Man - But Will They Elect An Atheist?

You can't trust an atheist.

First of all they don't believe in God so how smart can they really be? Why would you elect someone who can't think critically?

Why would anyone vote for someone with a morality that has no anchor? They would have no reason to trust anyone who doesn't believe in God.

I don't really think Obama is really a God fearing man so I don't really consider him a Christian and I don't think you can really ask the question.

He went to church a lot but that was just for show.

The single, most obvious reason, that educated people the world over, who do not hail from America, find American politics so abhorant ... is because they ALL, without fail, invoke God to bless America.

Why?

I am an Englishman. We invented democracy. God doesn't roll our dice. We do.

If an English politician stood up on a podium and professed their profound desire to be driven by God, they would be out of a job inside twenty four hours (Tony Blair is a point in case, pretty good skin until he started shouting about God, after meeting 'W').

Most rational minded people find it utterly unbelievable that your president HAS GOT TO ACTIVELY PROVE his allegiance to God ... and then keep on doing so at the end of every public address.

Think about it. The only other set of people who rant and rave about God as much as Americans do are the 'bad' guys ... religious fanatics is what you call them. Fancy that?

So, as long as God doesn't wear a [snip] turban or call himself Allah, everything is just groovy, right?

Am I missing something here? Is America better than everyone else because the American version of God wanders around Wallmart wearing a pinstripe suit and smoking a stogie (not a real Cuban one), instead of rustling up some goat curry in a cave somewhere whilst drying out his loincloth over an open hearth?

Well, yes if you exclude the ancient Romans.

Canadian politics is quite free of god too, we just don't buy that crap that is religion+politics. We feel uncomfortable about it. It just never caught on, and hopefully never will. Not that our politics is completely void of god though, we just don't have candidates spewing their faith to get votes. (exception: Stephen Harper )

Yup, seems America's wars have become holy wars to the muslim people, like we need an extra layer of BS as a reason to fight. Mostly just a cover.
