I don't see people suggesting that. I see them saying that we have some really tough times ahead and that's true. The country and its people have virtually been ignored for many years now and it's showing wear. The economy is tanking, our people are hungry, homeless and without health care, the military is suffering and our reputation in the world is no longer that of the greatest nation in the world.

How is the military suffering? Though I agree America needs to reconstitute its infrastructure, I disagree people are going hungry in America other than those who are unwilling to help themselves, and even in that case just about every Church (all kinds), city and community have many programs in place.

If a person has lived their whole life making one poor life choice after another and so they have no skills or education and just happen to live in an area where many are just like them, I see this as they have created their own situation.

Sometimes a better life means you move, and or gain better skills, and I would be behind any program that headed in that direction, but they don’t. They all provide fish, but none provide a way for that person to learn how to fish on their own.

The big question and one that goes back to what our founding fathers wanted is whether this is a federal issue or a state issue. I personally say it is a state issue for we already have a huge federal foot print and since we are the United States and not just one big state this goes totally against our founding forefathers ideals.

I'm not even going to answer your accusation that the 35 million people whose Food Security (the USDA's term - because "hunger" sounds so nasty) is very, very low is because they brought it on themselves.
