Actually, my avatar represents the life and death cycle of all living things.

EVERY living thing you look at will eventually die.

Pick your battles better.. for you failed horribly at this one.

i think the avy's on here a great. especially the ones that have a hard hitting home truth to it.

like err baseball? is it?
has a poor dude all skin and bone, curled up, dying of starvation in africa or somewhere similar.
then beneath it has a big fancy hummer, with pimped out wheels and bling to the hills.
and the word "necessity"

so simple, but the meaning is deep.

BTW, InterestedAlways is a friend of mine. Not too fond of your rude and snide comments about her avatar. If you knew the person, you would be blessed to know a wonderful person who is inquisitive, intelligent, and a valuable friend.

Ditto! So what's the OP bellyaching about? I find InterestedAlways' avatar very artistic. And above all she's a wonderful human being! So the OP's contention is way off course and I completely disagree.

I wonder what the OP thinks looking at my avatar? ....From the depths of hell - Satan's rep on mother Earth! Jeeez!! But hey BFT, I ain't too bad, what?

Cheers!

If you're using Linksys, try clicking the Advanced button under your Port Forwarding tab. Set TCP 88, UDP 3301, UDP 2184, and GTP (Germ Transfer Protocol) to 7782 for the Black Death. If you have a different plague in mind, you'll have to check out a FAQ for the correct port range. Be sure UP&P is enabled.

I like you.

OP, I apologize for my offensive avatar. This is now a two-line response.

wow, that's the most petty complaint i've heard all day.

i'm sorry...i like dark art and i find belief in the occult fascinating. (though i don't put faith in it) stop judging whole groups as one. one of these days you'll find out the truth isn't as bad as you first imagined and it's your prejudice and judgmental ways that is the real evil.

I'm mostly concerned with NuclearPaul's avatar. That guy featured as his avatar definitely picks up children in his spare time.

The phrase, “one mans food is another mans poison”* comes to mind here. The various avatars used by the members here at ATS may very well have some personal meaning to them other than what you are capable of perceiving, at least superficially.

What you think of as evil may simply be your lack of understanding. The “Plague Dr” was a good example and I am somewhat partial to my avatar character “Carnage” which is of course set off in fits of violent rage when encountering those people who exhibit arrogance, ignorance and rudeness, something of a personal identity issue I can relate to.

The renaissance architects believed that evil can be easily frightened away from a building or structure by posting gargoyles and other powerful beasts above the corners and entrances of a building. It was well understood that evil spirits and evil people are easily frightened and annoyed so much by these images that they would not dare enter a building adorned in such a way, whereas the good people and good spirits are not bothered by these images.

So far, I haven’t seen any avatars that cause me any sense of alarm or concern, nor have I noticed any that violate this sites T&C. You might want to investigate WHY any of them bother you. And if you search well enough you’ll discover that you have a problem, not these other people. If that doesn’t work for you, then you could just ask a member as to why they selected their specific avatar.

And whats up with picking on Interestedalways? I think her avatar is nice and she happens to be very positive and upbeat, whereas Doomday, not so much.

*the actual quote is “one mans meat is another mans poison”, but I didn’t want to add to the fodder.

I know you're upset that all of the "cool" Avatars are taken , I'm sure we could help you find one that works. And as far as bashing "interested always" Avatar , that's pretty weak... have you ever read ANY of her posts? yeah I'm SURE she's NWO...
I thought ATS'rs were not to be "judged by the color of their Avatars but by the content of their Posts"

DENY IGNORANCE

That's very interesting, especially since I have a deep interest in herbal medicine/history. I have often wondered about your bird avatar. I always liked it. Reminds me of a goth Heckle and Jeckle wearing a dress.

If you think about it, why wouldn't a site like this have dark overtones? It would suck if all the avatars look liked they were from the rainbow brigade of hapiness. It wouldn't fit the site.

It looks like the answer to the question is a resounding NO. I'm a relative N00B on here and like a lot of the avatars. I can scroll through a long thread and pay more attention to those with an avatar that catches the eye or I've seen around before.

Personally, logically, subjectively, objectively and lovingly
I'm more interested in what people have to say in their posts than the avatar they choose to accompany them.

Best.Troll.Thread.Ever.

Somebody cue the hook, line and sinker.

***edit*** Oh yeah. My avatar is expressing the evils of North Carolina football and how they MUST be defeated!!

I'm pretty new here, and have enjoyed the fine art of the avatars. Even saved a few. I just wish I knew how to post one of my own...Something about having to make 25 posts. I just never have anything clever to say.

I discovered ATS in 2006. I would visit regularely as I found this fabulous website to be a great pool of information.
I would sometimes read intire threads, some writers are geniuses, some researchers are very thorough.
I was not a member, so- no avatars to identify to, for more than 2yrs, just the message.
I finally signed up last fall. This is a whole-other level. I love the diversity of dark, funny, sexy, strong, spiritual, couragious, historic and artfull personalities.
Sometimes when I encounter an avatar that shocks me out of focus, I naturally skip to the next post.
When I encounter an avatarless post, I think
A - this person is not computer savvy
B - this person is grey
C - this is probably something boring i'm gonna skip this. Or,
D - My intuition, stops me, and I really learn from this poster

Here on ats we have all the help you need to set yourself up!

so wait ... now the illuminati has a patent on and "owns" the eye of horus?

do you even know what it symbolizes?

the actual Egyptian eye of Horus... from hieroglyphs...

if you want to get rid of avatars that are in poor taste.. how about starting with the ones of world wrestling federation stars.. laaawls.. that's like the epitome of bread and circus mindwashed mouth-breather joe neanderthal public.
but no.. they have just as much right as anyone to post their avatar as some steroid freaked white trash superstar.

at least symbolic avatars might lead someone to THINK.

as far as the skulls and big bad barbarian type fantasy art... so what?
it's most likely someone thinking that somehow that imagery shows that they're tough or "dark"..

i'm through the initial "phase" of seeing ALL information and symbology that the illuminati or masos may use... as something entirely "evil" in fact i'm done with seeing things in complete black and white.
They don't OWN all gnostic and pagan symbology. they just know what it means.
Funny thing is.. is that just because they use it.. it completely robs you of their value because you have this impression that those symbols are "evil" just because "they" use them.
They're not the ONLY ones that use them.. or understand them.

that's retarded.

i'd rather take a logical approach and understand the actuality behind the symbolism that's survived through the ages instead of pointing a blind finger screaming "THATS EVILLLL"! "THATS EVILLL TOOOO"
"b-b-b-ecause uh-loominatee uses it!"

let me ask you , OP, are you completely innocent? are you 100% free from sin and have no impure thoughts? if not, then chill.
you ARE .... then .. forgive us

people have their own ideas and reasons behind the avatars they choose and if you don't like it don't go on ATS or download an add-on that eliminates all graphics so you have text only. ( i think that's against the TOS here though)...

have fun with your little protest though.

wouldn't want you as president.
...tell me us how to identify our internet presence... pshhh..
