From the several u2u's I have received...this isnt the first time the OP has "provoked" people into endless and senseless discussions.

Highly agree, it doesnt promote any worthwhile, calm and peaceful discussion or even debate. Only name calling and personal attack.

If I was one of the mods this thread would have already been shut down after the first post.

JMO.

Cheers!!!!

Well, why can't we state our own facts?

Why are your facts better than anyone else's facts?

And why post on a discussion forum something that is not really open to discuss?

I have no problems in moving away, but the fact that I (as any other ATS member) can stay on this thread and write about the subject you chose while the thread is active makes me think that it may be interesting, at least to try to understand you and your ideas (something that I always like to do, even people that look uninteresting may be interesting study subjects).

It is open for discussion to people that know what there talking about if you have valid point.

Have you seen a UFO?

have you filmed a ufo?

if you have not to both questions you can discus it but it will be taking with a pinch of salt.

I have never seen a UFO, and, obviously I have not filmed any UFO, but I do not want to discuss any specific UFO sighting, photo, film or video, as far as I understand it that is not this thread's subject, what I want to discuss is your idea that only someone that has seen something that he/she can not identify and/or that he/she does not know makes that person a better judge of other cases.

This is an obvious troll post. Everyone stop replying, this 'person' cannot be reasoned with.
No matter what you do or say, he will reply with "Unless you have filmed a UFO or witnessed one, you are unqualified to judge some shoddy video that proves nothing."

The grade school equivalent to his argument would be to cover your ears whilst screaming "I-know-you-are-but what-am-I?!"

Might as well lock this thread, it's not going to go anywhere.

I have seen three ufo's in my lifetime. So would that make me an expert on what I am viewing? I have never claimed they are alien controlled because frankly there is absolutely no proof they are. If your the guy who's nighttime footage looks exactly like a flock of birds in formation then your absolutely hopeless. You will not listen to others opinions because they differ from yours and you act like an infant when faced with criticism. It looks to me like you started a thread just to tell people.."this is what is fact because you said so and anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot". If you are that guy with the nighttime footage...then yes your ufo's look identical to a flock of birds in flight....according to you I am an expert...why?..because I see birds in flight everyday...and I also see alot of them in flocks.

Say someone sees the ISS, but they don't know it's the ISS, so they think that it's a UFO. By your logic that then makes this person more qualified than someone who could properly identify the ISS, which to me doesn't make any sort of logical sense. Also, here's a scenario. Say someone posts a video on here and you believe it to be real and then someone who has experience in video and photo editing that has never seen a UFO firsthand comes in and says that is fake based on a thorough analysis he has done of the video. Does this mean that you are still the expert on the matter despite the fact that you don't have the training this person has?

It will not go anywhere with people like you that say nothing and know nothing about ufos is there any one on this site that films ufos I'm talking about several sightings not just one By chance.

No doubt this guy is entitled to his opinion, no matter how arrogant. But that's all that it is... his misguided opinion. So in the end ... who cares? If you want to give your opinion on a ufo vid... go ahead... why should what this guy has to say matter?

Because everyone's opinion matters, at least to makes us understand better how people think and what opinions other people have, and in what they base their opinions.

That is why I always try to understand other people's point of view, even if I do not share their opinion at least I learnt something more about human nature.

If you have No experience in filming ufos or contacting ufos you have no say because it does not concern you.

Other wise you would be contacting them and filming them.

Does that mean that on the occasions that you saw UFOs it was not by chance, it was because of something you did or because of the way you did something?

You reply to one person saying an expert is when they have had several sightings...and not only ONE by chance. Then you reply to me saying that my three sightings do not make me an expert and that my several do not make me an expert...lol..I am pretty darn sure that three makes several.
Anyways I am not claiming to be an expert....there is no such thing because if there was then we would have all the answers. What you are saying is that you an expert at not being able to identify objects in the sky...because thats what a ufo is...an unidentified flying object..not alien flying object. So if your an expert at not being able to identify objects in the sky.....maybe you should pick up a book on aircrafts.

i seen a ufo once when i was young. our house stood on a cliff with the front porch over-looking the ocean. i recall watching this "ufo" for quite a few minutes.

i doubt it was a plane because it was going backwards and forwards (actually, side to side from my perspective), i doubt it was a chinese lantern because it was out over the pacific ocean. it could have been a helicopter but why it would be maneuvering as it was at that time of the night over a pitch black ocean beats me. to me it was a ufo ... "unidentified" flying object.

according to your logic that makes me qualified to comment on and/or judge ufo videos???? hardly!

I reply not because you have a point, but because I have the right as anyone else, to express my opinion and point of view to the post, which is exactly what I am doing.

If that bothers you, then I suppose that bothers you. A grain of salt as you say.

I, and others are still waiting for the explanation of what makes you the expert vs anyone else at ATS posting UFO videos and why no one else is qualified to come to a conclusion of what is seen in UFO videos and films.

After all, that is the point of this thread..is it not?

Cheers!!!!
