Gaza: wounded at risk as Al-Quds Hospital is hit by IDF

The Al-Quds Hospital run by the Palestine Red Crescent Society in Gaza City was hit by explosions and fire broke out, putting at risk the lives of around 100 patients and the medical staff caring for them.

"It is unacceptable that wounded people receiving treatment in hospitals are put at risk," said Jakob Kellenberger, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who just completed a three-day visit to the area that included a stop at Shifa Hospital in Gaza. He insisted that all parties to the conflict must comply with international humanitarian law. During meetings held in Tel Aviv this morning with Defence Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Mr Kellenberger insisted once again that the rules of international humanitarian law oblige the parties to a conflict to spare civilians and to protect medical personnel and medical facilities at all times. He requested systematic access to all parts of Gaza for humanitarian assistance, especially medical assistance.

Not sure what if anything my commentary is going to add. If they have the stones to destroy a UN compound and a school, I guess that a hospital is just another statistic in the growing list of atrocities.

Like the UN compound the IDF has flip flopped again as they did with the school. First it claimed militants in the school, then they were nearby, then with the compound today the same

Then, as now, Israeli officials initially claimed that Hamas militants had fired from inside the school. After the U.N. denied that charge, Israel said that its soldiers had fired at Hamas militants who were firing mortars near the school.

This is getting uglier by the minute.

The UN compound, now a hospital.

There really is more to this conflict than just Israel and Gaza, there are greater powers behind the scenes and that is why the world is watching
this conflict as they sit on their hands.

The UN is a puppet and is powerless to stop this.


I hate being alarmist but I think it is going to get bigger and we are all going to suffer someway or another.

They said on the national news - NBC - that the UN said someone did fired from the building before it was bombed after all. They were mistaken before about - only innocent people being there.

So, now the UN is basically saying the bombing was caused by someone inside the building.

Guess they had to change their tune to the events, since people are becoming more outraged.

elite soldiers with elite weapons and the latest and greatest technology, being let down by the weakest excuses for the atrocoties.

Even with all the backing and money given to Israel, you think they could have employed a half descent spin doctor.
