<New....Help?

The time the site says the last post was made should be the same as my time zone, it isn't.
In order for the time to be correctly displayed I had to set my time zone to the middle of the Atlantic. Now, being a citizen of a capsized boat I ask someone for help. Is it that the post time displayed is not supposed to be related to my time zone?
