Firefox problem

Two or three weeks ago I started using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I liked it, but now it's annoying.

This is what's happening:

I'll log into a site, like ATS, go on it for a while and close it. I come on again and I'm logged out. This happens to every site even if I click the "remember me" box.

I tried deleting cookies and restarting. My settings are the same as a few days ago when I didn't have this problem too.

I might use IE again?

Clearing cookies will log you out of a site. That's what the site's login information is stored in.

In Firefox, choose "Edit / Preferences" from the menu, then check the settings under "Privacy". Make sure that it's set to keep cookies until they expire, and that the "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" option is not selected.

Yeah...I know that...

I've always had it except cookies until they expire and to not clear it, and I'm still having this problem.

I read that before. Is there an answer in that?

How do I delete both my cookies.txt and cookies.sqllite files? Would CCleaner do that? Because I've tried that too

Apparently, ccleaner will not delete sqlite files. Notice the typo in the original link - only one 'l' in cookies.sqlite.

I found this page which shows how to edit (delete) cookies.txt.

Starting in Firefox 3.0 and SeaMonkey 2.0, cookie information is stored in "cookies.sqlite" and "permissions.sqlite".

Deleted Firefox - Problem fixed.

I don't know where to find those cookie things, I've searched the entire computer and nothing shows up.

It was making me too angry. So now I'm using Opera.

Ok, after that last night I finally found where the cookies.sqlite. Why are they so hard to find?

Anyway, I deleted them and it fixed the problem.


Then it started happening again a few hours ago.

I can't win.

Clearing cookies may not fix the problem the privacy settings may
click on tools
then options
now click privacy
under cookies
check the two boxes if not checked
make sure the next line says
keep until:they expire
next under Private data
make sure both boxes
are unchecked
