Former American officials on US-Israel relations

With more and more (ex-)officials speaking out against Israel's influence on the US, I am wondering what people think of those officials criticizing Israel. Particularly those who support Israel unanimously, do you think these officials are liars, lunatics or what?

Although I personally do support the existence of Israel, in no way I would ever support their government's policies. Any other country behaving like this, would be condemned or isolated by the US. When Russia protected its citizens and the South Ossetians after Georgia decided to start shelling them with artillery, the US was first to criticize Russia, whereas Israel enjoys full support.
