I'm not sure which genre you're looking for but I found Handbook for the new paradigm very interesting.

2 fascinating ones I'm currently reading:

1. BEST BOOK ON CHILD REARING in modern era that I've ever read:

HAVE A NEW KID BY FRIDAY

by Dr Kevin Leman.

Great stuff. Effective, wise. Sensible, solid, . . . great book. You know a family and/or a single mother who desperately needs this book.

2. FAITH OF OUR FATHERS--GOD IN ANCIENT CHNA.

Forget author. Great documentation about how God of Old Testament was worshipped as the supreme Almighty Deity in Ancient China and offered sacrifices essentially identical to the yearly Jewish sacifice.

A book I've read and re-read and keep reading - in fact is right here beside me:

Meeting the Shadow - The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature.

Edited by Conie Zweig and Jeremiah Abrams - ISBN 0-87477-618-X

There's just so much information that grabs you and shakes you and makes you think, makes you question.
Not only others, but more importantly yourself.

The back reads (in part):

Rage...jealousy...lying...resentments...blaming ...greed... These forbidden feelings and behaviors arise from the dark denied part of ourselves - the personal Shadow.
Everyone has a shadow, which begins to develop in childhood as a result of stuffing away negative feelings in order to build up proper ego.
We encounter our shadow when we feel and unexplainable dislike of someone, when you uncover a lone buried, unacceptable trait in ourselves, or when we feel overwhelmed by anger, envy or shame.

But the shadow is not only an individual problem. Groups and nations have collective shadow, which can leas to dangerous actions, such as racism...scapegoating...enemy-making...and war.

In a collection of 65 wide-ranging articles Meeting The Shadow presents an overview of the dark side of human nature as it appears in families, intimate relationships, sexuality, work, spirituality, the New Age, politics, psychotherapy, and creativity.

The best thing I can say about this book is read it.
I havn't stopped reading it for years.
