Thanks for posting this DD.

I really hope this man is tried and convicted of murder.

He belongs in prison, for a long long time if not life.

Isn't it about time there were mandatory yearly or biannual mental health screenings for the Police and anyone who carries weapons in the public realm?

The police seem to be spiraling out of control these days. Long gone are the days when the neighborhood cop pulled up to groups of kids to hand out baseball cards. Today all we get is tasered and shot....

Holy Crap man!...

I see what our anonymous police friend was talking about now in terms of having to train & retrain safety procedures. Damn that was horrible, do you have any other info on that case?

What I think probably won't matter to all of you... but it looks to me like the Bart Cop was AGHAST at what he had just done ... watch his body language... see his personal reaction. I truly think he was reaching for his STUN gun, not his regular weapon. I believe it was an accident; he didn't mean to do that. So it's not intentional murder. It's manslaughter of some degree.

It seems to me that its just a tragic accident and the officers explanation of mistaking it for the tazer holds true.
Obviously the victim is the unfortunate one here but for all we know the cop was one of the best and had saved countless lives before only to now have this hanging over him for the rest of his life.

Some cops are just thugs. This type of stuff happens all over the country. Check out this video of a cop that beat a handcuffed woman bloody. You will see how the cop covers the video camera and when it comes back the woman is on the floor in a pool of blood. Pretty brutal stuff, she was no threat she was just being drunk and talking back. It happend back in 2007 and got almost no attention in the MSM at the time.

There is no such thing as a "submissive" shot. Officers are trained to only shoot to kill, to aim at the center of mass. Firing a shot is usually done to protect their lives and the lives of others. But rash actions, accidents and misjudgments compound in situations like that and # happens. Much of the blame is due the perp that increasinly in our society wants to resist the cop's order in several ways. And the cop never knows to what extreme it will go, and as they say frequently on Fox's COPS, they do like to go home at the end of the shift.

I agree with you. The boy's life was lost. No debating that. But shall we also condemn this officer a murderer even if it was an accident? Involuntary Manslaughter is a lesser charge and I think a more appropriate punishment based on the evidence.

Question... and be truthful... If YOU were on film shooting a handcuffed or bound man in the back like this would YOU or ME be brought to court by the DA with a lesser charge..... LOL. If this was a normal person and not a cop the DA would have a slam dunk murder case.

Equal justice baby!

wow... i am so shocked at some of the unconcerned responses posted.
this officer had trouble even pulling out his weapon so he could have
thought and stopped what he was doing. what a psycho. he even responds
like he knows he has done something really wrong by putting his hands to his
head. what a dangerous, incompetent, cold-blooded murderer. and some of the responses from you people are so shocking. this is part of this man's job which
he should have been trained for and should have been trained to respond appropriately to. how often does something this tragic happen? thank God not often. witnesses were shocked and scared and they reported the murdered victim even begged for his life. has our society become this numb to something this awful? i actually cried tears for this murder victim. the tv station warning wasn't enough. i can't believe people aren't more concerned or outraged. this murder victim didn't do anything to be murdered over.

Wow... watched the video... So this guy resigned and has a lawyer... does that mean he is NOT in custody?

I have not been able to locate any information on the shooter's sleeping arrangements. I'm just going to throw an educated guess out there and say that he should be in police custody but odds are he is taking a sabbatical. It does look like he didn't mean it at the end there. If you and your wife refuse to pay your taxes they throw you in jail, cease all of your assets and house if they can they do everything possible for you to be unable to pay for a lawyer. Cop shoots you in the back you die and your family has to pay $8K for a funeral.

For those who are arguing over whether he meant to take out a taser or a gun....

If I was a police officer and I meant to take out a taser but instead accidentally shot and killed a man, I would be probably crying on the spot and thrown back by what just happened. At that point, I would definitely not continue my police duties there after. Thus, quitting my job and probably turning my self in or asking for forgiveness at least, from the family.

Of course, this is all based on the presupposition that one is reaching for their taser and NOT their gun!

I would like to see the other police officers questioned as to why they did not arrest the shooter after wards. Why did they not throw him on the ground while another presses their knees to his head and neck and handcuff HIM!! That's what I want to know.

Because they look after their own... Corruption.

This is truly sickening, and i hope the guy gets the full force of the "law" slammed down on him.

I highly doubt it though...
