Thanks for the cooperation with ATS. You and william must be in the "great admins club" because you seem like such a noble and wonderful admin, just like william is.

I hope to see you as a member of ATS maybe. I am sure you have so much wonderul and inteligent insight you can bring to ATS. I welcome you to ATS.

Good news my friends, SaRuMaN has just eliminated the rest of DreamRebel's posts.

Just to confirm what Xizer was saying above, a system was devised this morning that has been successful in removing the plagiarised content from all 1200 of his posts on the Unexplained Mysteries forums via changes to the site database. This has also been achieved without the deletion of anyone else's posts or topics.

Thank you to everyone who helped out by identifying plagiarised content and to those who originally brought these issues to our attention.

There is no longer a single trace of Dreamrebel's plagiarised content on Unexplained Mysteries.

I was wondering if anyone is making any attempt to contact the admin of spaceflightnews.com regarding DreamRebels post?

I am truly amazed at all of the puffed up self importance so many have of themselves. Apparently you have no idea what you are made of.

Really? You don't think people who spend a great deal of effort researching content on serious subjects should be concerned when someone else claims the work as their own?

I Am Tut
Big deal.

oh please! you are full of it. Whatever I am made of, is far better than the crap that seems to be your head. If my self importance is puffed up, then yours is over-inflated!

you may not think it matters that someone stole our posts, because it didn't happen to you, but how would you like it, if someone tried to claim personal events from your life as their own. Or after you spent time doing the research and making a presentation, they tried to take credit?

No one has a problem with anyone else using any information we may provide here, but since we chose ATS as the board to express ourselves, credit should at least be given to the site and acknowledgement to the writer if you are going to copy our words exactly.

Maybe Tut is just upset he wasn't ripped off?
I can tell you from personal experience that, although I thought is was wrong for the hoaxer to steal from ats, it felt far worse when it was personal. Can anyone say violated???

I thought I was unoriginal.

But I guess I can feel secure in the fact that I actually take the time to make up my own unoriginal thoughts...

The internet is evolving. People can still do things in here that carry little penalty.
Penalties have to be created in this environment. Folks like DR (hope there
in no relation to Dragon Rider/Iron Dragon) have a hard time living as a
"xerox" in the real world but it does seem to work a bit online. Where do you
draw the line though ? I have spent my life offering up work from references
with my own spin, or crediting them if I quote. Dream reBULL is spending
his life copying and pasting. KingLizard posted his posture a few pages back
and I thought it would be nice if he (DR) were forced to do a control-c from
that posture. Still, this is not going to be an isolated incident. And eventually,
some places will respond very negative to the overtures of Skeptic and crew.
You might not like this suggestion but it carries real power if used as
an enforcer. Consider the size of ATS compared to most discussion boards
out there. If you ever have to be a bully, for most boards, getting spammed
by 500 new members from ATS comming in to ask why Skeptic and crew are
being ignored can really ruin their day, not to mention the operations of the board.
It would also be a hinderance for boards the size of ATS. Should be saved
as a last resort, kinda like nukes. So Skeptic, you now have nuclear capability.
Use it wisely.

/\/ight\/\/ing

Edited to add :: For ATS members, this is the type of post to avoid. I have already responded
to Kano, for which I have the greatest respect. But I do not apologize. The internet
is the Wild West in the days when a posse might someday be needed. My observation
was a toungue in cheek suggestion if that day should come.

That is precisely what we will not do. ATS does not participate in board wars or anything of that nature. Any board worth its salt will understand the issue and help resolve it. I think the UM crew have been absolutely brilliant in this episode and their maturity shows in the class of the UM board.

Nightwing, we have a long standing policy AGAINST people flooding other boards, and have punished people before for attempting to do so. It is not what ATS is all about, and such suggestions will not be tolerated.

Yeah, just what the hell is your problem anyway? How about I copy and paste everything you've done on ATS to another website! See how happy you would be! Unlike some people, I actually SPEND TIME RESEARCHING my posts.

Starchild,

Please back off. Tut was not meaning to be maliscious, nor did he insinuate that anyone on this thread that was plagarized has NOT contributed to the site. He simply stated that IN HIS OPINION (which he has right to) it's not that grand of a cause.

Please don't get too upset with a differing opinion. It wasn't that big of an offense (i.e. referring to Tut's statement).

p.s. And in his own special way, Tut HAS contributed to the board.
