There is a much more sinister idea that is much like your own. It is the idea that the Annunaki created us as a slave race to mine gold. Sound crazy? Than this entire theory you just stated is crazy. Of course I dont believe that idea because it is totally depressing and I would simply rather not. There is another idea that aliens didnt create us, but that we are a necessary step in the progression of the universe. Maybe aliens are observing us because the choices we make will be significant to the future of the universe. The idea is that the human species is living within two alternate realities. The choices we are making will determine whether or not these two realities will merge into one or we will all destroy ourselvs. Our consciousness will allow either one to happen. This is relevant to the procession of the equinox/2012.

And the fact that aliens probably have never visited Earth is highly plausible. With our current understanding of physics it is completely impossible to travel beyond our solar system. Completely impossible.

And Anonymous ATS idea is interesting. How aliens are really our future selvs or really our ancient selvs that were able to advance themselvs much further than the rest of us. Sort of like the Ascended Masters. Pretty good idea.
