So tv internet access free education and recliners are now what they need? The things that a brought in are usually contraband such as drugs, booze, things that they are not allowed to have while locked up.

So long as they are not allowed to have every single luxury t they would have on the outside, there will be corruption. Hey, if i go to prison i'm not allowed to have heroin*, but i ld probably find a guard willing to help bring some in for money. there is your corrupotion, cause they are not allowed to use heroin but they feel that they should.

*(i don't use heroin by the way, just using it as an eample.)

The majority of people in prison should not even be there and it is totally counter productive and costs the tax payer a fortune.

I agree with everything you stated in your post...and especially this quote. So many are imprisoned when they shouldn't be.

This is probaby why America has more repeat offenders than any other country.

I agree with you there 100%. Now people jump off the deep end saying things like "you want to make it like Auschwitz without the gas chambers" which is not the case. It is very cushy for prisoners in the USA.

Here, the local is single celled, air conditioned, Heated to 68 degreesin winter. They get free cable in every cell with 21 inch TV's and they get cable that costs me 124 dollars a month. If I add a TV to my bedroom its another 36, there are 900 cells Plus the other rooms that have cable. Not happy about paying that bill out of my taxes. They get two hours of internet every other day for free. How good the food is, I'm not sure, but there haven't been any food fights in a few years so it must be palatible! Free online college courses. I'd say thats fairly well treated. Any inmate is allowed to be locked down if they feel threatened also. Wish i could get taken care of like that. I just don't feel like getting that far down the food chain!

Where the heck do you live Zindo? 124 a month? I pay that for the fastest cable Internet connection possible, a complete cable package, HD cable, local phone service and two Premium services with their HD channels(Showtime and Star) all at that price? Is that what you mean, or is it that expensive in the "Northwest"? Are you in the US?

If you abuse prisoners they will be twice as bad when they get out. This is a two edged sword.
