Obama considers linking Defense Dept. with NASA

Obama's transition team is considering doing away with some of the barriers that separate the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA, according to Bloomberg.

Citing people who've discussed the idea with the Obama team, Bloomberg says they believe collaboration between the country's civilian space agency and the military's space program would speed up the time in which the U.S. is able to send people back to the moon.

I absolutely can't believe this has not been posted yet! come on folks this is total ATS material. I for one am very interested in learning more about the materials Obama has reviewed that would encourage him to merge these programs. What independent, unique research has the pentagon done that would be potentially crucial in re-igniting the lackluster civilian space exploration program. Care to speculate?

I'm sure we have some thoughts to discuss.

The Military in space, a militarized space, assume for one minute that the UFO/Alien people are right and what do we do? Militarize space? If the military goes you know weapons go and that is a weaponized military space, I don't think an other more advanced life form would allow our dumb warlike asses the ability to weaponizze or militarize space, IF THEY ARE REALLY SMART!

NASA will work closely with the Pentagon?
Most of NASA's Personnel come from the armed services anyway, and NASA has launched tons of military equipment in the past.

But maybe this really means we will hopefully see some more exotic black program technology released into the space program this kind of goes with my thread here

I dont see the big deal either. NASA, Air Force Space Command and the Pentagon already work together.

This sounds like a budget issue, and not much more. IMO
