Look out Green Arrow and Green Lantern! What will they change their names to?
I thought it was going to be a humorous piece, but it was quite serious. People need to lighten up, especially college students and professors.

LOL I kinda thought so myself.
I think cultural words should make the list but not words that describe a transition or a state of being. To me that is like saying people shouldn't use the words happy or crazy.

Now BLING should definetly be on that list.

How about the media's annoying habit of adding names together? Bennifer, Bradjolina (however they spell them). Definitely should be put on that list.

Anybody else catch this?

for "Staycation"

"The cost of petrol forces many families to curtail their summer voyages and a new word has sprung, idiotic and rootless..." Michele Mooney, Los Angeles, Calif.

Who the hell in LA calls gas "petrol"???

What do you mean "rootless"?

Stay = staying at home
Vacation = taking a break from work

So, a staycation means you're on vacation, but at home...

We should use the British terms. Vacation is the time off, and "on holiday" is the actual trip away from home.
