I could say I'm not really a superstitious person.

Although I make a wish when I see a shooting star I'll surely forget it in the next minute;
The only reason why I don't use a broken mirror it's because I might get cut;
I look for four-leaf clovers just for fun;
I've had a black cat (well, I've also had a white cat at the same time);
If a ladder blocks the side walk I don't mind to walk under it;
If someone sends me a chain letter I simply throw it away;
13 is just the age of my first kiss…

But…
Once my grandma told me if I would sing when I wake up, I would cry when I lay down at night. This is a complete nonsense, I know, but it really happened to me sometimes. Might be only a coincidence but the fact is that I never tried to sing in the morning ever since! This is so irrational!

And I do love to sing...

*sigh* (lucky neighbours…)

What about you? Are you superstitious?

Im not superstitious no. I don't worry about black cats, cracks in the pavement or broken mirrors. I honestly think the whole idea of superstitions was created as a way for people to blame their problems on something other than their choices. My life is full of both good and bad no matter what cat crosses my path or what day of the month the 13th falls on.

Life is what you make of it.

I claim not to be but I find myself performing little rituals, wearing things [silver bracelets from Nepal] that for some unexplained reason give me confidence. If I tell you I'm not superstitious; don't believe me.
Actually I think it is human nature to adhere to habits that may have subtle meanings only to the individual.

Superstition encompasses more than the "black cat" "crack" "ladder" type of human reaction.

I'm not really superstitious in the traditional sense. However, me and a close croup of friend have developed little superstitions amongst each other that we seem to adhere to. It's just something that developed over time so I do think it's just human nature to have a few little personal superstitions at the very least.
