and to every Jew or Palestinian, and also to every uninformd person of the happenings at Palestine/Israel.
I currently live in Greece where you can see all score of immigrants from all over the shore of the mediteranean and the Balkans either try to stay
and work legally or otherwise and I wish to state how I view here from the local media and from what I witness around me the Palestinian/Israely
disputes over time.
First of all the general consensus of the public is pro Palestinian and everyone sympathizes their continuous hardships but there is also a friendly
public attitude to Jews in general and towards Israel despite some minor differences between our two states that surface every now and then
considering the strategic allegiances in this region.
It is a fact that if the news about a continuous genocide towards Palestine
were real the first country you would see droves of Palestinians coming back and forth from and to their Homeland would be Greece, since it has a
relaxed attitude about harboring droves of immigrants until relocation or forwarding to other European countries etc.
IT DOES NOT HAPPEN.
Another thing I like to state is that I hear clashes and disputes come forward during 3 times of the year, every time. All three times correspond to
religious holidays, primarily Christian religious holidays.
Let me clarify that the vast majority of citizens follow the
Christian Orthodox religion in Greece. Lots of Greek churches and religious communities established since almost the dawn of Christianity are in
Palestine and Israel are protected and governed by the Orthodox rulling Patriarchate in Turkey, Konstantinople/Instambul.
Now about those religious holidays that every year disputes emerge between Israel and Palestine, most of times near, around and inside these regions
that are considered the cradle of Christianity.
It is Christmas, Easter and around 15 of August, where all Christianity worships the passing away of Holy Mother Mary, Jesus mother.
I understand that Jews have absolutely no gains if eruptions of violence happen at specifically these dates, since it would hurt their public image
deeming them irresponsible in the eyes of the Christendom globally as keepers of the holy places and primarily it would hurt them economically since
droves of tourists from around the Globe visit these places a these 3 times a year I previously mentioned.
Palestinians on the other hand used to be non Islamic in a large extend and over the years gradually were converted to Islam. There used to be a very
large percent of the Palestinians that followed the Christian Orthodox religion, but now this trend has receded.
IF Palestinians are ruled by a radical Muslim authority then it would be safe for every Christian Orthodox to assume that this authority receives
orders to gradually turn the Holy Places in a battleground in order for the cradle of Christianity to be inaccessible and gradually to be forgotten.
This authority probably WOULD NOT WORK FOR THE PALESTINIANS OWN BENEFITS.
IF THIS IS REAL, then IT IS EVIL AND I CONDEMN IT. In fact every Christian person on Earth has to condemn this.
I am saddened by these occurrences literally every year. Israel has every right to defend peace and stability in this region. Palestinians had
everything to gain by embracing a non radical philosophy of living, but they chose not to.
Soon lines will be drawn and I am saddened to say that Greece has no real benefits any more of supporting their side of the story although we
wholeheartedly wish and support a Palestinian independent state.
I am very sad to state this.
So long and good luck.
