"It said the proposal for a truce in Gaza was made in a telephone call to Meshaal late on Sunday by Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade, current president of the 56-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). “The Hamas leader said he was ready to sign such an accord in a place to be chosen by common consent between the two sides,” the ministry said in a statement. It said Wade was proposing “a definitive truce between Israel and Hamas through the signing of an agreement that engages Hamas in the immediate observation of a cease-fire in exchange for an immediate cease-fire by Israel accompanied by a total lifting of the blockade on Gaza"
Todays Zalman

I don't know this source.

I don't know if it is trustable or accurate.

I only hope it is.

Second source:
""It is about getting a definite truce between Hamas and Israel by signing an accord that would oblige Hamas to observe an immediate ceasefire in exchange for an Israeli immediate ceasefire accompanied by a total lifting of the blockade of the Gaza strip," it said."
Yahoo News

maybe it is true.

Let all hope so.

Third Source:
"It said Wade was proposing "a definitive truce between Israel and Hamas through the signing of an agreement that engages Hamas in the immediate observation of a ceasefire in exchange for an immediate ceasefire by Israel accompanied by a total lifting of the blockade on Gaza"."
Reuters

There may be peace yet.

Once there is peace, what will all Irans murderiers (sucide bombers) do???

Also it vastly limits adim-a-jihad as way behind the times.

Good now we can go back to America being the great Satan.
This was a total waste of life. Both sides should face some criminal charges!

This just kills me.

Everyone ape-poo over the battles and no one cares about a possible truce??

I admit, we need to wait till it is signed and to see if it holds up.

If and when a truce is signed, how long do you think it will be before Hamas resumes lobbing rockets at Israel?

Israel needs to learn from the encounter with Lebanon: finish the job. Then they can talk truce.

How many times has there been a truce or a cease fire? It means nothing with these two. They're going to go on killing each other until one group is wiped off the map. I'll bet anyone a cheeseburger this will happen again within the next year, truce or not. I don't know why I'm betting cheeseburgers, hungry I suppose.

You are, of course right.

I can only hope this time it will be better.

I just had a horrible sick thought.

The truce gets signed and both sides abide by it.

Then as the boarder is opened, the Iranian murders come in and start suicide bombing.

It goes straight downhill from there.

Please let me be paranoid.

Please let me be dillisional.

Didnt Israel already state they wernt interested in a truce or ceasefire, and were going to go as deep and long as nessecary to finish the job?

I think they are for real this time,

eliminate ALL HAMAS, any anyone left standing has the option to accept israel as a neighbour or suffer.

Solider: Hey you cowering in the corner. Yeah you the one lying emancipated on the floor... Do you accept me and my country.

Gazan: No never, not after what you did.

Soldier: Fair 'nuff *opens fire*

*close curtains*

No. I mean yes they could, but Hamas wants to be legitimate leaders of the Palestinian people and they would lose ALL world recognition and credibility if they did something like that. There would be international outrage so no, in the preservation of self-interest, it would be HIGHLY doubtful they would pull that stunt.

Will they still be firing rockets though? You betcha. That aint gonna stop.

The only thing a truce would do is give Hamas some time to regroup and rearm. Once that is accomplished we will be back to square one debating this all over again.

I have to wonder how many of Hammas actually stayed anyway. With the flow of terrorist style recruits etc. just like there was in Iraq, this could go on for years. Hammas would have to be politically removed the way it looks now. They've apparently lost any credibility they might have had, if ever. Hammas and it's pretentious political party has to be removed. They failed at truly representing a democracy.
