It's not a real company. We Want Your Soul is a song by a British DJ and producer named Adam Freeland.
According to the Wikipedia article on the song
We Want Your Soul, Adam Freeland described
the lyrics as being "about the destructive side of consumer culture", and about how commercialism is inescapable.
Already this "company" is starting to make sense.
When on the "company" web site, scroll to the bottom. There you will see " ©2002 We Want Your Soul incorporated. All rights reserved." It is a
link. Once clicked, it will take you to "http://www.freeland.fm/".
Freeland.fm.
Next go to the Frequently Asked Questions on the "Our Company" page. There you will see this:
Q: Does WWYS® have a lobby group or contribute money to candidates for public office?
A: WWYS® always acts in accordance with the relevant laws. While the company itself does not contribute money to any person running for office,
company staff acting "on their own behalf" are
free to do as we tell them.
Free to do as we tell them? Sounds pretty sarcastic. It sounds as if this "company" is mocking corporations, which would seem to make sense
considering how Adam Freeland described his song.
This too:
Q: There are some websites that imply that WWYS®'s success is linked to its satanic connections. Is this true?
A: No. The Internet is a great tool for gathering information and carrying out research, but much of the information on the web is based on opinion
(lies), not fact.
You are free to do as we tell you.
Yes, we all know companies are really thinking this to themselves, but they don't put it on their web site. Not real companies, any way.
Next, take a look at their "Online Quotation". One of the questions is "do you use internet chat rooms?". Really? What does that have to do with
anything? Also "do you watch any of the following news channels: Fox, MSNBC, CNN, SKY?".
Also, fill out the survey and process your "quote". It's a bad link. A real company would have this fixed.
I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the point. This is satire, basically. It is mocking corporations.
