More likely since Googles main audience is armchair snoopers, they did it merely to make a point.

What I think is REALLY HILARIOUS is that all over ATS and other forums there is thread after thread of google anomalies, glitches and data errors and in each one someone (usually the OP) is claiming that its there to cover up some government installation...

Now when I show a REAL one that IS covering up a REAL government installation...

All of a sudden the tune changes...

I was stationed at Volkel. The security at the front gate was laughable given the sensitive hardware and info within the base. Me and a good friend once switched our base picture ID cards during a return to base. We both got through the front gate in our hummers one after another without question....We look nothing alike. He's white and I'm black.

when the google earth sattelite flies over area 51 they just move everything inside they don't blur out the base. makes me wonder what they are obscuring thats more secret than area 51.

Security is a funny thing. A thief going to a construction site, say a housing development to remove appliances, becomes invisible if he is wearing appropriate clothing and a hard hat, and if someone does ask him why he is taking out the machines all he has to do is wave a piece of paper and say "I'm exchanging models"

Yeah this actually happens. My dad told me a story where they had a large boat on display in a show room. Someone overheard that it was being picked up at 1 PM so they came in coveralls, flashed a pickup slip, and hooked up the boat at Noon... since a pickup was expected... well when the real crew came at 1PM heads rolled

You guys were driving Humvees and most likely in uniform and you looked like you belong. No one EVER looks at the face or name on a badge. I have had conventions badges with a female face and name get me into the door

But who needs Google to see what is going on there when guys like you take pictures
