My sister sent me this email & I thought I would like to see what everyone thought. This is a really good analogy of where the USA is headed....

"A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punchline. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms -- just a little at a time."

Are all these government programs , helping us or hindering us? Is the Government trying to make us depend on them until WHAM, the door slams shut and we become penned in pigs?

” A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.”

Thomas Jefferson

Socialism is cool...dont worry about it....

a little democracy ...with a little socialism...with a little communism...with a little facism....perfect system......combine their best attributes to make a system almost flaw free....

And stop blaming the illuminati or goverment...we are the pigs who keep coming for the food...all you have to do is stop going for the food....but the sheeple are not responsible enough to handle true freedom so they let someone else run their lives.....the pig is too blame not the pig herder....

Moose Head: you forgot to trow in Capitalism and democracy.

It is my opinion too that an actual good system is a perfect blend of all models, but a bias to any of communism, fascism, socialism, capitalism or democracy is bad.

A pure capitalist society, just like socialism and communism turns people into numbers and commodity.
A pure democracy never gets anything done because a vast majority always needs to agree for anything to happen (not just 50% but more like 75). The game Anachronox had a great example about this kind of democracy (remember the shrunk planet that you got as a party member?)

I find it quite funny, that if we do end up being more "socialist" at the end of this economic crisis than we were at the beginning, that is was extreme Capitalist greed that led us there. People like Bernard Madoff and lesser incarnations of him on Wall Street who mindlessly pursued the almighty dollar with no regard for others or the general wellbeing.

This story really drives the point home. This country has steadily a division between the haves and the have not.Tactics meant to cause eventual instability. The true basis of this story comes from Russia. The masses were told they were poor and the wealthy land owners/farmers were to blame. The government false flagged food shortages also blameing this on the land owners/farmers.Soon the masses believing this lie, massacred the land owners/farmers.That opened the door for the communist state to take over. The people believed that only the government could solve all their problems.
This is happening right here, now,in this country.People are told they are under privledged, the government hands them all they require.Taking away any ambition to succede on their own. They are trapped in a voluntary slavery.Soon enough the government will start taking things away.Blaming the loss of benifits squarely on the backs of the middle class and the wealthy. Those who have grown dependent upon the governments good graces will seek to render their fair share from their fellow men.Anarchy by the masses, followed by new equality in wealth laws enacted by the government.Redistribution of the wealth, with most real property owned by the government.
You have some here that will say socialism, communism and totarianism are good things taken in moderation. The problem with moderation is one must have the will power to fight the urge to over indulge. Our government is not capable of restraint.

I find it amazing that everyone is being herded carefully in the direction of thinking that social programs and developing a civilized organized society is the slippery slope toward fascism. Norway's form, proportional democracy is the closest thing to democracy you will ever see. They are civilized, and have safe guards in place that ensure pure capitalism and coporate rule doesn't occur.
They have the highest standard of living in the world, according to the UN with more money left after their taxes when compared to the cost of living. Their housing and food costs are considered necessities and kept low. They have a top notch education system and almost zero percent murder rate. Trauma leads to crimes. You allow your children to be so traumatized and destroy their lives incredibly.

Women are elected in larger numbers in proportional democracies and they simply don't appreciate dog eat dog systems. In fact, if you go to the government sites in Sweden, say, they will explain that they don't consider their system to be "social" democracy, because their proportional democracy ensures mainly minority governments and much discussion, and even when conservative ones win this doesn't change. Its what happens when you have a constitution that legally puts its money where its mouth is, and where equality is worded as substantive equality. That is conditions that separate people from e quality are addressed.

You are being trained to think that anytime people organize into government systems they must live like slaves, fending for themselves, and only a few will survive, most women with small children won't, the ill, disabled, elderly.
You wish to live like the Lord of the Rings. Well the 52% majority females in your system sure the hell don't. The US isn't a socialist country. Its a fascist one.

Socialism is like Norway and Sweden. If you lived their you'd be intelligent, educated and know the difference. Your education system has been so destroyed that you can't see the forrest for the trees. A fascist government that puts its money into black op projects, corporate bail outs, militia rather than good social programs, health care, housing and education is not a socialist government. The US is fascist and brutal. Your health care programs are crumbs.
