Lets address this issue about the overactive mind.
The way to deal with it is NOT to try and ignore them. The mind and the subconscious are like little children. They do not just go away if you try to
ignore them. They often get louder and more annoying. The answer here is to acknowledge them and then let the moment pass. Negotiate. Be neutral.
Don't ignore, cooperate. If the thought that you have to get some work done or go somewhere pops up you reply by saying "yes, I have much to do, but
this is important NOW." This way the subconscious gets its message through and can now relax. It does take time. Sometimes lots of time. This is why
many people like visualization and/or form of active meditation. It acts to occupy the mind so that fleeting thoughts are less common. It all depends
on what type of meditation YOU like the best.
